GECK sample - Image 1In an official press release, Bethesda Softworks has confirmed the release dates of the massive DLCs they've been promising for Fallout 3 (PS3, Xbox 360, PC) and the much anticipated Fallout Level Editor.

Fallout 3
's first major DLC, Operation: Anchorage, will be out by January and will be exclusive to the Xbox 360 and PC.

If you recall, this is the add-on that's supposed to mirror Oblivion's Knights of the Nine in size and scope. Bethesda also mentions that more DLC will be coming over February and March.

Here are the descriptions of the DLC as provided by Bethesda:
  • Operation: Anchorage
    • Enter a military simulation and fight in one of the greatest battles of the Fallout universe – the liberation of Anchorage, Alaska from its Chinese Communist invaders. An action-packed battle scheduled for release in January.
  • The Pitt
    • Journey to the industrial raider town called The Pitt, located in the remains of Pittsburgh. Choose your side. Scheduled for release in February.
  • Broken Steel
    • Join the ranks of the Brotherhood of Steel and rid the Capital Wasteland of the Enclave remnants once and for all. Continues the adventure past the main quest. Scheduled for release in March.
Also of note is the official Falllout 3 editor, affectionately called the G.E.C.K. (Garden of Eden Creation Kit), which will be available and free to download this December for PC users only. Expect user-made zombie apocalypse scenarios and replicas of the Thunderdome to follow soon (Two Mole Rats enter, one Mole Rat leaves).

» Okay...

So why is this in the PS3 section? Are you just trying to piss PS3 owners off by putting it here?

And Bethesda, what is wrong with you? Put some effort into it and give the PS3 owners something to look forward to as well. This is ridiculous.

» Umm yeah

If none of that is heading our way... why tease us?

» Who cares?

This game is garbage no matter what platform it's on. It's nothing but an Oblivion director's cut. This isn't even a real Fallout game which is why I passed on it.

» I know!

Like what the hell! When I read the title I got all excited seeing new DLC and a Level Editor! Then I read on and see that the DLC is "EXCLUSIVELY" for the Xbox 360 and PC! AND the Level Editor is ONLY for PC! Why does the Level Editor have to be specifically for the PC? Any other Level Editor has been for any console, and has been included with the game.

» Haha

Kcdeath, if you had any idea what Bethesda's editors do, you'd understand why it's for PC only. You can do pretty much anything with them, add new quests, characters, weapons, cities, you can make new models in 3DS max and new textures in Photoshop and add them to the game, anything you want. Its not just for making maps, like Far Cry's editor. It is essentially the tool they used to make the entire game. Its not possible on consoles. Go dl the Oblivion editor and you'll see what I mean

Anyone else getting sick of DNAgent's constant Fallout 3 bashing? You don't like the game, no one cares... No need to post it in every Fallout article. You say you "passed on it", so I'm assuming you never even played it? Then all your bashing is completely baseless. Most of your posts are anyway, tho. At least rent it and give it a try.

It's honestly one of the best games I've ever played, you're missing out. I'll be buying all this DLC, it all sounds great

» Agreed

Agree with what Master Chief said. Fallout 3 is best on the pc anyway, and for the first time ever I`m actually considering getting this DLC considering how much Fallout 3 kicked ass. Love to play some new content.

And the only platform thats good for level editing and modding is the PC. End of discussion.

» Umm...

Everyone is missing my point... Why is this in the PlayStation 3 section? There is no DLC for PlayStation 3, so why should this be posted here?

» I know

If it's not coming to PS3, this really shouldn't be on here (PS3 section). Are you trying to piss people off QJ?

I guess its safe to assume tho that eventually a Fallout 3 GOTY edition will b released or something, and the PS3 version will have the 360/PC DLC
