Okay, must...think...write...coherently...DAMN! can't tell you how hard it is to write when your drooling this much. Just give me a few seconds to get it together, okay? 1..2..3..4..5, alright we're good. So anyway, we're here to give you a preview (and more screens!) of one of the hottest racers to come out on the PS3, Evolution Studios' MotorStorm.
Lucky lucky IGN was able to take this baby out for a test drive and according to them, the developers are living up to their studios' name because with every new game build released, we'll see that the visuals are just evolving to better quality. The cars are extremely detailed (down to the disc brakes, axles, and engine action), realistic damages to the vehicles (the bodywork crumples, bumper hangs loose, etc.) and you could almost taste the mud and dust kicking up your screens.
Also, IGN shares with us that if you go all road raged, crash into stuff, and drive furiously, flames will flick from the stuttering engine, then your vehicle (your choice of ATV, big bikes, 4x4s, rally cars, and more) packs in and explodes, filling up your screen with springs and tyres and other car parts, which just looks...so...beautiful. It might even be worth intentionally crashing your vehicle for, just too see the explosions and a mass of cogs spill from the gearbox. Sigh.
At this point we are so terribly gushing and dreamy-eyed about the game so we'll just let you read IGN's experience for yourself, just click on the read link below and you're all set. But before you do that, join us in our gushing and dreamy-eyed state by checking out these vrooming and-a roarrring screens:

I'm hoping it (or its sequal) gets ported to X360 one day, otherwise it'll be a shame for me to miss this game, as PS3's other titles have't exactly taken my breath away as of yet.
On another note, the PS3 seems to be capable of huge amounts of detail, moreso than X360, which will be interesting when the winner of this gen becomes clear. X360's CPU appears to handle more interactivity + AI/Effects etc at one time, Cell seems to be able to concentrate its efforts on one task at hand, and do it well, which is the complete opposite of what I was expecting.
To all QJ readers out there: what do you think PS3's advanages will be over X360, how about disadvantages? It's about time we heard from fans willing to stick there neck out so close to the launches

Have you seen the previews of this game? At the Tokio convention thing, or whatever, they said it was 60% finished. I think it is likely that evolution studios will add more content to the game, but a march release, IMO, is unbelievable.
I estimate a release date in December, but not too far from November 17.
I'm not planning on buying many PS3 games yet. There will be some free ones that you can download, and I'll be busy playing Final Fantasy XII.
