Ó

gearswars2_brokendiscNow this is one way to send your message straight to the developers. An irate gamer has mailed a broken disc of Gear of War 2 expressing his disdain for the lag issues plaguing the game.

Cliff Bleszinski was the recipient of said mail, who then posted a picture of the broken disc on his Twitter. The disc came with a message scribbled on a broken half: "LAG SUCKS!" The return aaddress on the envelope was to "Marcus Fenix, 2006 Laggy Lane, Lagsville, FL".

Bleszinski replied to this message via his Twitter, saying, "We agree. Expect news in this area soon." He then later updated that with three more posts giving the same assurance that we will be getting an update on it soon.

As we should, I reckon. It's been two years since Gears of War 2's multiplayer feature launched and ever since then it's been beset by lag problems like the plague. Ever since, as in, it's still an ongoing issue until today. Epic Games has yet to come up with a solution for it.

Maybe the broken disc will help speed things up. Gears of War 3 is just around the bend after all -- April 2011. Or does that make it too late for GoW 2?

hahahahahahahah hahahahahahaha next thing to do now is to send in a folded ipod touch 4th generation because of all the light leak issues and all the other problems (battery being crap, ipod over heating to the point that it cant hurt to hold it...etc)

Gears runs on P2P. Lag happens when there is a crappy host or you have crap internet. If Gears has good networking code then it's not the devs fault.

It may be P2P but it is run entirely on XBL servers(Microso ft). It can be addressed by having more servers or bandwidth expanded for the gamers.

That makes no sense. The only servers involved are matchmaking servers (like with COD, Halo and many other 360/PS3 games) but the hosting is entirely P2P.

The problem with Gears is that it requires ALL players to have open NAT , any players with a NAT strict modem, etc. will lag the game horribly.

I played COD4 since day one with a NAT strict without any problems so the problem does lie on the side of the developers.

I changed my NAT and gears was better , but if you play with someone with a NAT strict your pretty much gonna get lag.

Dedicated server support and a generous NAT setting would fix GEARS 3.

I loved GOW1, online was awesome even with a few issues but idk second one just didnt do it.
Hopefully 3 will sort everything out, I'll still be buying it cause the story is just completly bad ass

I respect that person who mailed that broken disk. What a genious way to get devs to stop ignoring their game's issues.
