IGN informs that at the Game Developers Conference 2007, Incognito Entertainment's Dylan Jobe, Game Director for Warhawk, announced that Incog and Sony were having internal discussions on the possibility of starting a public beta test for Warhawk.

Jobe believes that a beta test for Warhawk would be very beneficial for the developers as it would act as both a demo for the game and a stress test for Sony's servers. Jobe also comments that because of its download only nature, he believes that Warhawk shouldn't be a full-priced product. However, one must note that Jobe has no control over Sony's eventual pricing of the game.

Okay, two things to be hopeful about. Firstly, that the beta pushes through: Warhawk should help RFOM along in kick-starting an online community on the PlayStation 3. Secondly, that Sony listen to Jobe: given the already high cost of entry into the PlayStation 3 experience, cheaper games should make the initial pain to the wallet worth it in the long run.

» Let's see...

Considering that Sony has effectively crippled this game by pulling the plug on multiplayer, making it download only AND not making plans to add rumble, they had damn well better keep the price point down.

» Hope?

What? Pay full price for a downloadable game? No box, no disk, nothing? Just a download for full Price?

Tell Jobe stop pissing off gamers... I can't believe we are still waiting for that game and that it's content keep changing...

» Cool

Just dont price is at 49.99 or 59.99 because it wont sell..

I imagine its going to be 29.99 or 39.99... Neither which sounds great to be honest.

The Ps3 gamers make or break this game. So price it right. Without players online this game will go no where.

Sucks because Online looks absolutly stunning cant believe they couldnt even muster a bad single player. Then again people would complain just like Motorstorm so why bother...

» What?

The game looks incredibly solid, I don't see why people are already bashing a game that looks rather great, especially one from such a reputable developer.

» eh?

what are you talking about the game is ALL multi-player and there was never any splitscreen mode to begin with

The price of the game will be between 20-40 bucks.

At 39.99, if it provides a solid online gaming experience then it will be worth the price. People pay 59.99 just to play Halo2 online, so what would be the difference?

This game will most likely be priced at 29.99, this is the price that the game should be, 19.99 would be nice for PS3 owners but paying the extra 10 bucks means that the developers will have more money to work with for future content for the game.

» Cuz

They're bashing it because it'll probably kick ass and they're afraid of its success.
