GDC 2007: LittleBigPlanet with LittleBigCommentary, customization to gameplay

Ó

You've seen the gameplay, but you did not hear what came with the gameplay: the commentary. The LittleBigPlanet demo gameplay you saw and downloaded happened during Phil Harrison's Game 3.0 keynote, and included a running commentary from Media Molecule demonstrating the physics-puzzle power of the platformer.

Now, thanks to GameTrailers, it's like you were there at Game 3.0 listening to Media Molecule. Here's the uncut first presentation, which includes more than the gameplay demo video from last time: it includes a few minutes to demonstrate the ability to customize your game level almost anyway you want, before the boys get on with the game.

Who knew sock puppets could be so lithe? (Or abusive - ow, you beat Phil up!)

Watch out Nintendo. Microsoft touted Viva Pinata as a great game but this seems to blow that away. I am glad once more I bought a PS3!!!

Every developer and game reviewer that was in the room watching the video for this game seems to disagree with you on this one. But your comment is PROBABLY the only one that means anything.

If you cant see the sheer awesomeness in this game from the pure physics thats going on then you are either blind, in denial or the saddest fanboy ever. This is a big step forward in gaming in general and I cant wait to play this.

Lol disregard the 360 fanboy, here we have 100s of developers cheering their asses off at this game. There's no way to downplay that ;p

This game is completely dynamically driven.

No other game is like it because no other game has been dynamically driven like this game.

Its not just a game, its a game to make games. What you see are puzzles that you get from point A to B. But you can also make many mini games. Like having jetpack contests or vaulting competitions.

Its going to be one of those big games because of the fact that it all hangs on user content an the most successful games have been all about user content, ie Half Life.
