GDC: 3 spaces a month for Home - Image 1
OMG, a giant virtual non-portable Portable PlayStation!

We all knew that PlayStation Home was an ambitious project. But how ambitious? At GDC, PS Home director Jack Buser says that they're planning to launch at least three spaces a month.

You'll see about three new spaces launched a month - I'll be shocked if we ever go under that number, we have so much in the pipeline.

Sounds like critics who say there's nothing to do in Home have to shut up now. Buser also expressed how Home is a great opportunity for virtual friends to get to know each other without actually relying on games to do so (just don't go invoking pedobear):

We noticed at Sony a problem with the friends list [that consists of friends you meet online] - you don't really know them. We wanted a place, a neutral environment, where players could go and really get to know each other outside of the context of a particular game.

What we need is to be able to buy TVs, like Sony showed us in videos prior to the open beta. I'd love to be able to show other players content stored on my PS3, like some upcomming projects (not some creepy porn, I'm not into that!)

I like Home but I just wish the UK could log onto the US servers so we can be more guaranteed of finding people who speak good english. It's frustrating chatting to people with only a basic grasp of english. Ok so I failed my french and german GCSE's but that ain't the point
