Ó

Buckle up soldier, this is war. Two new gameplay videos have arrived from Leipzig for Guerrilla Games' Killzone 2. We are taken through the explosive atmosphere of a battle in the first, and we are shown a miniboss by a mini-gun in the second. The atmosphere is expectedly dark and dreary - it's a war after all - and the tension is simply, well, intense.

Parts of the first video was already featured in the developer's video released following BBC's review of the game but you may want to check out the rest of it.

» Everything

Looks wicked except for the horrible horrible fire effects and explosions....they stand way out....these orange'ish blobs cast no light onto the environments....

» Not sure yet.

I was totally hyped about this game, the graphics looked and still look amazing but something wasn't right with that video, did really give the same impression as the last I saw.

The game play seems abit slow and easy from what I did see. and The grenades just didn't throw right, looked abit *****ed up and barley went on target. Will just have to see in the near future, luckily it aint done yet.

» And

Whats up with those crosshairs, seriously not gettin the vib with those.

» Things I noticed...

There's a HUD. I thought they weren't using a HUD because it "pulls you out of the experience", or something similar.

New weapon. Although it seems to act exactly like the original one...

Cover. This shows that my worries of mindless run 'n' gun gameplay might be wrong.

Shooting through cover. In the second video, he shot a hole in his cover and shot the enemies through that. Maybe another sign that we can expect this game to be more strategic.

How to kill the boss. Turn him oaround and shoot his weak point for MASSIVE DAMAGE! (Sorry, I couldn't resist.)

» and uh...

it's not done yet either, is it

» Needs lots of polishing,......

maybe evem some body work.

I noticed that when standing behind the destructible cover it broke the wood where the crossair was not where the gun was pointing, meaning the bullet's line of fire is incorrect. I also agree with mentality about the grenades seem to do retarded s.h.i.t. and the fire and explosions are suposed to look good but they suck a.s.s.

The other thing I noticed is the lack of animations, i.e. The machine gun guy at the end does the same animation everytime you pop him in the head. Many other thing too That I know I missed, anyway this game needs serious work if Im gonna buy it. YAY LITTLEBIGPLANET

» Uh...

Are you people joking? The game looks simply amazing.

The single best-looking FPS on consoles yet, period. And it's not even near completion yet.

From the first video, the controls look extremely tight, too.

» It looks good..

"The single best-looking FPS on consoles yet"

...But not that good.

Besides, I'm mostly interested in the gameplay, but we'll have to wait and see if Killzone 2 delivers in this area.

» What i find funny

is that now we all know that the games graphics are headed in the right direction as to be excellent, and that it has a cover system and controls well, people are now focusing on game play and final pollish. Whats next?

This game wil only realy be worth buying if its only costs $30!

Cum on guyz, its on course to be a great game and yes, possibly worth a 9.5

Just be patient.

Ofcourse if could still flop... nahh.

» To Demon Slayer

" There's a HUD. I thought they weren't using a HUD because it 'pulls you out of the experience', or something similar."

Actually, the HUD is minimal and is only visible when the player walks over a fallen enemy or something, according to this quote from a Gamespot preview of KZ2: "The game is almost completely free of a heads-up display. The only time you see anything other than the environment onscreen is when you walk over a defeated enemy's weapon and are given the option to switch it out with your current weapon by pressing the X button."

» YES

Umm...KZ2 looks pretty uber. I like the character animations, since they look a little more realistic than other FPS. Overall, it's going to have to play well in order for it to compete because the UT3 engine is wayyy more refined in terms of graphics. We'll have to see...

by MGSROCKS1 - 2007-08-29 20:02
» Its progressing nicely but there are some problems

The graphics look very good at these stage. I hope the gameplay is more varied then Killzone 1. I didn't like the facial animation of the characters so I hope they fix that too. The hit detection is a little off. The crosshair will be aimed at their chest for example and the bullets hit the floor instead.

What is up with those grenades? They take out walls and cause debris but the enemies fall down as if they were shot by a gun. If a grenade can cause that much damage to the surroundings, I better see Helghasts flying across the map.

Another thing is the A.I seems too stupid. Maybe because they are still tuning it or this is easy difficulty so I hope that changes. If that doesn't, judging by the boss battle in the second video, the fight is going to be boring, fast, and easy.

» the player sucks...

i think it isnt that slow but the dude that plays just plays it *****ing slow
