Half-Life 2

Last time, we had some very devastating news from the boys up at Valve that Half-Life 2 and Portal's release will be delayed until February of 2007. We brought you a lot of gameplay videos to help you recuperate from this awful, awful news, but it seems like videos aren't enough, so here are some more details to keep you preoccupied until February arrives.

At Leipzig, Valve demonstrated each of the troop types available to players with accompanying short clips to explain their characteristics in detail. First of the bunch is the Engineer, a mechanical genius that sets up automated turrets that open fire when an enemy strays into their path. Next is the all brawn Heavy Trooper, that will cut through enemy lines like a hot knife through butter, hadn't the Sniper got a clean shot out of him.

Then there's the Spy, who would pounce on his unsuspecting victim using a handful of shifty techniques. The Scout, uses an old school baseball bat with lightning fast speed to put out enemies as well as make for a daring escape. If blowing up things is more your deal then the Demo man is for you. Light up some TNT and watch from afar as enemy troops go flying. Last, is the ever trusty Soldier. Who could contest with a rocket launcher carrying Jarhead that could wipe out enemies in a single shot?

You none PC gaming sons of blah blah blah. You have no idea what games TFC influenced blah blah blah. It was the first great class based FPS blah blah blah blah blah blah. Ok I'm done joking. TFC was the first online game I really loved. I would play it all the time after school. Good to see it back!

but i have to say, i only got to that after counter strike came out, and i found it to be slightly lacking... hopefully tf:2 will be pretty good, i like cs:s but it's the same as the original, and sometimes you need some variety.

as tf2 is one more than one console and the pc, does that mean the servers will support all 3 at once? like, ps3 vs pc vs 360?

i'd like that, using m/k on ps3 would rock. but i'd need a good tv/monitor.

I don't like CS as much as TFC. TFC is more unrealistic and fun. You can't rock or conc jump in CS...

I still play some times at THE G-SPOT (209.160.68.125:27015)

But TFC came first for me...

# TF was a MOD not Quake's MPssj3fox 2006-08-27 10:14
Team Fortress was a Quake MOD. The Team ported the game to Half-Life as Team Fortress Classic. It is well know to have set the standards for class based FPS games (Battlefield).
