Old SnakeWe reported earlier that a trailer of Metal Gear Solid 4 would be featured at the Leipzig Game Convention. Now, it seems that this trailer will be more than just any ordinary trailer - it will feature the first in-game footage ever seen.

Whether or not the trailer at E3 and TGS were real-time or not, they weren't heavily debated because Hideo Kojima is known for creating his cutscenes from real-time resources. However, how the actual game will look is still going to be of some interest to long-time fans of both the developer and of the game.

This is Kojima's last Metal Gear game... well, that's what he said last time too so maybe this won't be the last. Either way, this should be the highlight of the show for the PS3 unless Sony pulls off something even more amazing. We're keeping our fingers crossed.

The trailers were definitely real time, there even was a video floating around which showed a backstage presentation of the trailer. In that, they stopped it, moved the camera around and fiddled with lighting, depth of field, post processing effects and more.

Still, real time cutscenes are not gameplay, but much closer than target renders for sure.

i'll tell you what, konami (kojima and pals) can do amazing things with hardware. i was knocked out by mgs3, and with ps3 being so much more than ps2 i wouldn't be surprised if they have managed to make ingame footage look better than those old trailers by now.

anyway, it's going to be one hell of a game...
