Gauntlet II available on the PSN this week |
Ó
Heads up, retro gamers on the PlayStation Network! Another classic is headed your way this week and this time, it's the dungeon-dwelling arcade immortal Gauntlet II. Up to four players can cooperate and choose among for classes to battle monsters and Death across huge locales.
Taking the form of either the Warrior, Wizard, Valkyrie or Elf, you romp headlong into worlds with the task of decimating monster generators and collecting treasures. All of the classic elements are still there, including familiar sounds like "Red Warrior needs food badly!" and the sweet melody of a sucker punch tearing through goblin hide.
Unlike the arcade version of the old days, you don't end up developing hatred for people with powerful characters who hog the machine all day by virtue of a single quarter here. All you have to do is download it, call up your posse and grab a few drinks for a day of nostalgic chaos.
