GameTrailers sensationalized Jaffe's Blu-Ray statements? |
Ó
Sony, on the other hand, didn't take offense on this and mentioned that Jaffe's stature has earned him the right to speak his mind on anything he wants when it comes to video games. All good now? Well, not really because it seems now that the whole interview is being sensationalized.Like we've said, the released video interview was just a snippet of a longer segment. Another gaming site, GamePro, claims that one of its sources managed to get hold of the whole interview and learned that David Jaffe's statement was taken out of context. GamePro said,
It looks like GameTrailers is trying to sensationalize this by only using a snippet of the interview which is due to air in an upcoming segment. Jaffe actually answers that question by saying he thinks the PS3 is perfect the way it is but in his personal opinion he would have removed Blu-ray to make it cheaper. He goes on to say that Sony is smarter than him when it comes to this stuff.
Honestly now, it doesn't really matter if David Jaffe has uttered the previously "altered statements" or not. After all Sony has said that it's his opinion and he is entitled to that. The problem now lies with some video gaming site sensationalizing things to boost, what, ratings? Page views? Revenues?
While we understand the whole bit about earning money, twisting stories just to make them bigger than they actually are is just not cool.

nobody is surprised that online magazine sites do this to up their ratings and page views. its an industry standard to use soundbytes and twist interviews in a form for suitable for your audience. the Daily Show and Colbert Report perfected this years ago, and look how credible their shows are!
Which is why people should take everything in full context not just the "headlines" that usually mean nothing close to what it is trying to portray.
Reading Comprehension and a bit of Research will put things in the correct perspective.....
Hmmmm... "twisting stories just to make them bigger than they actually are is just not cool."
Isn't this a daily personal battle for you then? Half the stories you report on have nothing to do with the way your bloggers interpret them.
Anyway it's sure simplist to simply take away the BD, but I think the reserch and the experiment are a LOT more usefull than just repeating itself to save some money, no?
You are completly 100% correct with this statement. Qj is the ultimate doom merchant. They can also change the star ratings of any negative comments made about them. So that it appears that no one agrees when you critisize them.
All I have to say is is this is QuickJunk.net I tell ya. These bloggers don't know what the flip there doing or writing about.
no offense but hey, i have seen these kinds of issues here on QJ as well, where the news differs from the original site, altered in so many ways that the news goes the opposite way here than on the original site. one too many time and its ussually because the QJ reporter added his comments which in turn, turns the news around.
