The Collector's Edition Pack for Street Fighter IV of Capcom has been unveiled at the GameStop's online store. According to the information displayed on the page, the Collector's Edition is available for US$ 79.99. The PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions do have different contents, and from the looks of it, PS3 owners are getting the sweeter end of the bargain. For one, they get a bonus game disc containing HD 65-minute full-length Anime movie and promotional trailers. The other difference is in the collectible figurines: PS3 gets Ryu, Xbox 360 gets Viper.
Here's what else can be found in Street Fighter IV Collector's Edition:
- CD Soundtrack
- Udon/Prima Hint Book
- Downloadable Content

* A Bonus Game Disc with HD 65-minute full-length Anime movie and promotional trailers.
* CD Soundtrack
* Collectible Figurine: C. Viper
* Udon/Prima Hint book
* Downloadable Content.
And the PS3 version gets:
* A Blu-Ray Bonus Disc with HD 65-minute full-length Anime movie and promotional trailers.
* CD Soundtrack
* Collectible Figurine: Ryu
* Udon/Prima Hint book
* Downloadable Content.
So..... the only difference is the figurine and the what disc format the movie is on.

Thats because a download contains no residual value. I cant lend it to a friend, I cant give it as a gift, + I cant sell it. For downloads you're still too tied to a console or PC. If i buy it on console, i lose the portability of physical media. If i buy it on PC i cant take advantage of my TV + surround sound without moving my computer and hooking it all up just for 2 hours. Then theres the fact that while downloads carry no residual value, they cost almost, sometime exacly as much as their physical counterparts.
Thats not to say downloads dont have a place or future, because the do, but untill i can do everything with a download that I can do with physical media, downloads wont even come close to replacing it.
