Gamers to Sony: Release more Home Beta info |
You watched the walkthroughs and you've seen the updates, but until PlayStation Home is released any news is still not enough news. So in a plea for more information on Home, a discussion thread was started asking Sony for more info on the service.
The thread was born after a forum thread that directly petitioned for more info was locked. (The forums didn't allow petitions). BFrosty then started a new thread that doesn't petition for more info but does give an active voice for discussion, starting with this invite:
My name is BFrosty, and I support this forums effort to call for any news regarding the status of the open beta, how about you guys?
BFrosty then goes to address Sony and big boss Phil Harrison:
[...] I don't expect my lone opinion to matter much, but behind me, are a large cross section of your consumer base who, when added together, make for one heck of a powerful voice.
[...] For too long now it seems, there has been a lack of real info, which has led to a forum rife with rumor and speculation. It has become very difficult to wade thorough this mess looking for the most relevant information and discussions relating to the anticipation of home. It has also created disdain for the product, and some have even gained a lack of faith in your ability to actually pull it off.
In short, this forum has become a debacle of major proportions, an PR nightmare, and to get this community back on track, as you know, a little information would be the best remedy at this time. So please, Mr. Harrison, can you authorize at least one informational update on the status of the open beta, your consumers would really appreciate it.

the forum is a totally mess... I just have a question; if unreal tournament will have home integrated (that's what I read here in qj), doesn't means that could be near the open beta or something? or how will be then the game because the game arrive the 10 of this month. I didn't like the game but for what I read in the official blog looks very promising
The closed beta and open one was only to few people first come first serve. There won't be a beta for everyone i think. Most likely we'll have to wait for the actual home.
Seriously why does it matter if they haven't said anything yet, be patient.
All the forum-fuss over Home is a little over-zealous, no? I mean, I want to see Home, too. But, I can appreciate if Sony needs to play it close-to-the-vest and not release too many details before they are ready to launch it. --That would be rather like Sony personally calling-up Microsoft and saying, "Hey, by the way, on exactly the date of xx/xx/xxxx, we will be releasing Home. Here are a list of features it has. Right now, we are confident in providing x, y, and z with 70% certainty. ..Just thought you guys would like to know." .....I'm pretty sure that when Sony drops Home on us, it will be unannounced and unexpected. I think it's also a bit silly to think that they 'won't be able to pull it off'. ??? We're only talking about what is essentially a MMO 'game' designed explicitly for social networking and micro-purchases.
they wont pull it off because its too deep in production. I bet if they released it right now everyone would love it. Now imagine when they wait till 08 + the features there going to add. People will be going crazy over it.
Theres no way (not even saying that cause I like it) that it'll fail.
