Game developers leaving PS3 for Xbox 360? |

Ó
Are you still smarting for being one of the many who didn't get a PS3? Here's something that might lift your gaming spirit - there aren't too many games (outside ports) for the PS3 right now - or so Opposable Thumbs seems to imply: "sometimes it just doesn't pay to be an early adopter."According to the site, the low supply of PS3 consoles have not only frustrated consumers. The shortage has forced game publishers and developers to re-think their plans of releasing PS3 exclusives.
Fatal Inertia and Bladestorm: The Hundred Years War from Koei have reportedly defected to Xbox 360. We haven't confirmed this yet, though.
But if the buzz is true that game developers are shifting to Xbox 360, it's not because the don't like the PS3.
It's just that there are so few PS3 units out there right now (298,340), so game developers think they won't get as much money from a PS3 game. In contrast, an Xbox 360 exclusive title has a larger base (7,477,762 sold) so they will sell more. It's just your basic law of supply and demand at work.
The drought of PS3 titles (and hopefully, consoles) is not forever though. There will be more consoles sold, and by March 2007 a deluge of PS3 titles will be coming our way.
- NBA Street Homecourt
- Formula One Championship Edition
- Heavenly Sword
- Lair
- MLB 07: The Show
- MotorStorm
- Burnout 5
- Def Jam

once a price drop is implemented with the ps3, it will sell like hotcakes. the problem is not that people don't WANT a PS3, its that they cant AFFORD one. Thats how it is with me right now, i want one really badly.
But then again, even if I had the money, it would be damn near impossible to locate one.
As for the games, I think its going to take a major hit on the PS3. I remember the day when video games were about having fun, trying something neat a new... nowadays, all developers care about is money... and they always want more of it..
Just remember, GREED is one of the seven deadly sins...
Just my two cents.

anyway, its a stupid assumption by the devs that because in the first 2 weeks its only sold 300,000(almost) the game will sell next to no copies. Jesus, more PS3s will be made and they will be bought, developers are *****ing stupid, this is why people don't like you you *****s (EA I'm looking your way) you don't care about the gamer anymore.

this gen seems that sony and microsoft have copied eachothers strategies...
can't believe sony is retarded enough to act like the LOSER of last gen.

now give me your exclusives betches!

Besides, even if I get a PS2 1 or 2 years own the line, Ill still look into getting some of the early titles that I miss, so the companies wont go poor from releasing games for the PS3 now.

Both games and more units are coming.

Next lack-of-common-sense-rumor?
This is no surprise at all. Why shouldn't a 3rd party developer try to broaden the audience in this early phase of PS3 life? Especially since Fatal Inertia uses Unreal Engine 3, which makes the port a relativly simple thing. 3rd party exclusives will come later on.

one site posts the news and all the others follow and blow it up every time, and add speculation.
remember when the 360 came out !!, every little fault, factoid or game rumor was blown up to abnormal proportions.
DON'T BELIEVE THE HYPE !!

You need good games... something the PS3 doesn't have right now.
That and their trackrecord with firmware updates... (PSP owner)

Seriously the only console Im disapointed in is X360. The good titles are few, and even the ones already announced for PS3 outshines most of them. I'll get a PS3 in a few months when good games start coming out.

and "it definitely will" is incorrect, because people buy consoles for the games, not just because it's a certain console.
(at least no intelligent person.)

PS3= $600
Xbox 360= $400 + $200 (HD-DVD) + $100 (Wifi Adaptor) + $250 (5 years Xbox Live) = $950
Not to mention the PS3 is technically superior.

It's selling every single unit available. Thats hotcakes. You can't sell more than you have, and the demand for it is certainly not low.
And I said "it definitely will" (have good games) when the price drops.
People know what games are coming for it, so they can buy it now. I did so with PS2. I wanted Gran Turismo 3, so I got DOA 2, Tekken Tag and Resident Evil Code Veronica in the meantime.

Almost every game has focus on the online portion of the game and lacks a developers single player game.
GoW for example has a very lacking Single Player experience that can only be compensated with its multi player option.
Why has the Playstation always been a success. because of its games. Playstation has the better single player games.
Thats why 100 million people purchased the PS2. only 24 Million purchased a Xbox.
What does that tell you? The console experience offline should come first before the online experience. the FF series is still one of the largest RPG series in existence because its offline is better then anything else.
Not one RPG on the Xbox console comes close to what FFX offers. And now not one RPG on the Xbox360 will ever top FFXII.
Xbox360 is all about the online experience. Every single game thats tailored to have online play has more polished online play then offline play.
So why will the PS3 win over the Xbox360, because you dont have to have a broadband connection to enjoy it.

But it's funny, you ask why hardcore sony fanbois brag about the console. Can you do the same for the 360?? Anybody here that doesn't have a 360 and thinks its the shiznit of gaming? why do i have a feeling it's far below the amount of sony fanboys...
As much as i would love to kick mud in your face, I don't like to pick on kids that wear a helmet 24/7.

It's at that point I know I can ignore the stupidity of your post (no change there then). Almost EVERY review of GoW has praised it's single player game. The main issue with the sp game is that it's a little short, leaving gamers wanting more. Hence it's lacking in terms of length ONLY, not gamplay.
I prefer to enjoy 10 hours or so of superb gameplay rather than wading through 20 hours of rubbish. It seems you prefer the later.
And did you even read the GoW reviews? Obviously not, of if you did, you conveniently used your fanboy filter to ignore all the good points and focus only on what you believe to be bad. Typical.

5 years of Xbox Live costs 200 bucks. Which is technincally $3.50 a month. Not a big cost at all.
If you've played it, I'd say its worth the $3.50 a month.
I can easily jack up your PS3 price too.
PS3 + $600 Another Controller + $60 Another Controller + $60 Router + $50 Gas to go buy all this stuff $100 Mcdonalds you ate after getting PS3 + $10 Tax + $40 PS3 Game + $60 Extra Content+ $50 HDTV to fit PS3's 1080p only-thing + $2000 Alltogether + $3030
Not to mention the Xbox 360 is technically more fun.

We would make fun plans like "Ok Guys let's rev the chainsaws to scare them out of the sniper tower and lead them into our trap"
It's so fun. Everyone here should experience the fun that we had yesterday.
