Game classics screaming for a PS3 sequel |

Road Rash (1991)... - The great combat-racer that was probably the product of the success of the Mad Max movies. Although MegaRacer was more or less of similar gameplay, Road Rash did have more of its moments. There's nothing like whizzing through people downtown and whacking off bystanders left and right with a wooden bat. Home run!...could be reincarnated as Burnout 5 (Yet to be released) - IGN.com has quite the imagination, selecting Burnout 5 to be a great basis to relive the Road Rash glory days in all-glorious 3D. But yes, Burnout 5 would be the top choice. There are no weapons in the Burnout series, although they do have Rage and Arena modes. The real goal of the game is to cause wanton destruction and demolition just by causing utter chaos to traffic and your enemies. And the attention to detailed damage is amazing.
Star Control (1991)... - A classic on its own right, Star Control is still being sought after by some legacy gamers, myself included. The sheer depth of the story in Star Control holds testament to the work and attention given to the game. The visuals were amazing at the time, but the experience was more from the exploration, navigation, combat, and interaction. ...could be...? - Well, IGN.com isn't entirely sure, but we're pretty sure that Star Control should come back as Star Control 2. Although they have suggested that battles could take place like in modern war engines (the Total War engine), it could be better suited to introduce it in a more sci-fi, squad based setting like those of Incubation and X-COM. After all, we are talking about a console without a mouse and keyboard, right? Space combat would probably be like Descent: Freespace, because it would give more impact.
Return Fire (1995)... - Although also ported to the PC, the PS1 version made it so much easier to grab a friend and wage living room war. The capture-the-flag game mode coupled with a slight strategy for carefully selecting which vehicle to use next made this game an instant action-strategy classic. It also was the root for some pretty heated firefights, both on screen and right beside you!...could be Company of Heroes (2006) - Well, we do know that a Return Fire 2 did come out. A more robust 3D version, it was only plagued by its poor marketing, a soundtrack your grandmother could relate to, and nothing else new.
IGN.com chose the engine of Company of Heroes to be the platform for Return Fire 3, and we couldn't agree more. Of course, it would no longer be real-time strategy, just grabbing the incredible detail of destructible environments like the old classic. That, with more types of gameplay and more players to fight against, would certainly make Return Fire 3 a sight for sore eyes.

"SNATCHER"
Anybody who has played this game knows what I'm talking about. Just AWESOME, and either a remake, or a sequel would quake the gaming industry.

Thabor is right though. There is a Star Control 2 and 3. So the phrase should read "Star Control 4". Thanks.
