WarDevil does NOT suck! - Image 1

The PS3 Forums got a little ruffled when forum poster LeeArcher, began attacking the PS3-exclusive title, WarDevil: Unleash the Beast Within, saying that it's vaporware, even adding that the project managers are rotten to the core. Posing as a bummed-out investor, LeeArcher's allegations got a little heavy, and now Digi-Guys Studios was forced to take legal action against the slanderer, who turns out to be an ex-employee.

Forum Guru NoUseMercenary posts this statement:

Digi-Guys have stated that they have initiated legal proceedings against their ex-employee, who has been posting on this forum under the username of LeeArcher. Whilst this matter is being handled via legal channels Digi-Guys cannot directly address, discuss or engage in any matters relating to this subject. Digi-Guys have stated that they understand that this will be frustrating to the real fans of WarDevil out there but at this time are unable to comment further.

The worst part of this is, we won't get any updates on the matter since the Digi-Guys aren't allowed to post anything on the subject until the matter is resolved. Although LeeArcher's posts were removed from the forum, others still remain. As for the game, NoUseMercenary assures everyone that "there should be no worries" about the title's progress.

That's some serious bashing he did to actually merit getting sued. Little is known so far about WarDevil, but it seems the slandering got way out of hand. I guess we'll hear what happens to LeeArcher after the case is done.

Last we heard about WarDevil:

i thought

the internet was a free speech zone?

It's a common debate...

It's always free speech vs. slander. But having freedom doesn't mean you use it recklessly. Yes, he was free to discredit the WarDevils and its developers, but they're also free to sue his ass for going too far.

Well said Glenn, well said.

no.. no it's not.

the internet may be free speech, but when you go into a set of forums trolling that's a rule breaker right there, each forum has it's own rules and i'm glad this *****s dev status didn't sway the forum mods to look the other way while he was flaming and trolling and otherwise trying to show the other forum members how "special and privileged"special he was. i'm glad that the ps3 forums did the right thing, and subjected this *****s to the same rules that everyone "must" follow..

Still...

The statements from Digi-Guys through NoUseMercenary seem pretty guarded. I'd bet money that what they're really suing LeeArcher for is NOT "slander", but violation of employment contract. He may know inside details that only could have acquired through employment, and most corporations have a terms of employment that includes not divulging company processes, secrets, etc. for a period of years after leaving the company. ...Because (to me), the statement that "there *should* be no worries" (my emphasis on 'should') for fans awaiting Wardevil does NOT inspire confidence. Also, if the game is still in development, then why the cagey wording in the main release, "...Whilst this matter is being handled via legal channels Digi-Guys cannot directly address, discuss or engage in any matters relating to this subject..."? ---So, what are they saying: the lawsuit is so 'sensitive' that they cannot even publicly state that "Development is still proceeding as planned for a confirmed release"? LOL :-O

I'm sorry...

... but I've never even heard of this game, nor the developers. Let me see how many people even knew about this game.

.

Wouldn't he be a libeler rather than a slanderer?

WTF?

"This game this NOT suck"?

Double standard

Seems like a double-standard to me, Glenn M. You should ban the morons that post "first" in QJ.net, or those that otherwise ruin the fun.
