Fumito Ueda wants to bring ICO, Shadow of the Colossus to PS3

Ever since Sony confirmed the God of War Collection for the PS3, I've been wondering what combo can come next. Everybody's got their own bets, but a pack combining ICO and Shadow of the Colossus seems to be one of the more popular ideas. In fact, even Team Ico head honcho Fumito Ueda wants to see it happen.

Speaking to 1Up at the Tokyo Game Show, Ueda answered queries about a possible Team Ico Blu-ray collection thusly:

Initially, I didn't want to consider that. I always thought they were designed for PS2 and should stay there. But lately, I've been thinking it would be nice to provide the games to other platforms to reach more users.


That's nowhere near a confirmation, but it's nice to know that Ueda is at least open to the idea.

i can believe i forgot about Ueda...sooo...the current list of PS2 games that should "upgrade" to the PS3:



MGS Series (well, MGS2 and 3 at least)

Team ICO series

Kingdom Hearts (1, 2, and maybe Re: CoM as well)

Couldn't play ICO or SotC yet.. but i want to play The Last Guardian, so it would be awesome to have a BD-release of the 2 older titles.



I'd rather have a real Kingdom Hearts 3 than a remake of 1 + 2!

Any new rumors about a sequel for the PS3??

Owned both for PS2 but never really got into them so sold them on. Might give them another go if they come out on PS3 but I don't know.

and one of the guys (i think the main guy) said that the next KH was probably not going to be KH3 and that its probably not going to be for the PS3, sad I know.



but upscaling KH1 and 2 isnt going to take very long at all....so actually they dont even need the main team to do the upscaling.....



ive only played the demo for SoTC, but a set would be nice! idk, like the LE version would come with the upscaled version of ICO and SoTC or something!





good thing those guys over at GoW thought of this!

PS3 is the perfect platform for, in my opinion, Shadow of the Colossus. The scope of the game is just amazing and I would play my heart out, once again =D, in a revamped, 720p, 60 fps version. Please Team ICO, make this happen! You have our support!

I am deeply ashamed to admit that I missed out on both these games on PS2, and it always nagged on my soul, somewhere in the depths of my subconscious... (but I did play Okami, which may redeem me to a degree).



But if they would get a re-relase on BluRay, with some HD improvements, it would be an instant buy for me!



PLEASE DO IT! GIMME HD (yes, I'm a graphics whore) COLOSSI NOW, PLEEEEASE!
