Here's Free Realms creative director Laralyn McWilliams of SOE talking about the gameplay options that are available. They're tailoring the game to fit whatever type of gamer you are - a type of unbound open-worldness only some MMOs could dream of.
For sure, it's not a game for everyone, but hey - if you've got 30 or 40-something year-olds playing Neopets, then that shouldn't be all that bad.

I'll consider it if the final version lets me be something other than a fairy... Still confused about combat but I don't know, it could be enjoyable.
I think the base avatar is a fairy tho. Unless that chihuaua is an avatar too. Or maybe just one of the many pets you can own in the game. I dunno about the combat tho. From the way the girl described it, it's as if you can play the entire game without having to go into combat. Just play mining mini-games to level up your character and such. Weird huh? o_0
Actually, Angel Love Online is the first MMORP for the PS3, it's been available for free in the Japan PSN store for quite some time now. It's in Japanese, but there is an English version available for the PC.
I've read other interviews about this game and they are deffinately aiming for the 9-14 year old range, is what they said. From the looks of it, I would beleive them... I will check it out, but with WoW to play, I doubt I will get into it...
Which is why I said Free Realms is "one of the very first."
