It looks like Dana White's threats of a lifetime ban for fighters who choose to sign up with EA Sports MMA has left quite a few big-name fighters unfazed. EA has recently announced the addition of former UFC and Strikeforce champion Frank Shamrock to their own mixed martial arts game's roster.

Shamrock, a former five-time UFC and Strikeforce Middleweight champion, joins the ranks of Fedor Emelianenko and Randy Couture for the virtual showdown. The 5'10" adopted brother of UFC legend Ken Shamrock specializes in catch wrestling and kickboxing and currently holds a record of 23-10-2.

EA Sports MMA is scheduled for a 2010 release on PS3 and Xbox 360.

He washed out ages ago. He might've been good when he was in the UFC but today he's still on same level as he was back then. The sport has taken a huge leap forward since that day.

soccer kicks in mma? I don't like watching UFC as much anymore since the brazilian invasion. Only a few I respect, like Wanderlei Silva, Big Nog, and Gonzaga. Those are the only ones from that country worth mentioning. And I don't really like GSP as much as everyone else does. UFC back in the day was amazing. When it was you know...MIXED, now its just everyone has a standard formula that they must follow, back when it was just boxers vs kick boxers, wrestlers vs whatever..it was far more interesting.

I'm pretty excited to see what the first few in-game screen shots/videos will offer. While THQ did a commendable job at Undisputed, I felt that the game play was a little too robotic. Although EA won't be able to feature some of the better known fighters under the UFC banner, it's good to see them reaching out for those great fighters that aren't bound to their contracts. I await the day, when I can play as the Last Emperor on a next gen platform :). I hope that the fighters outside of the UFC aren't deterred by Dana White's threats. This sport does not need to be monopolized.

the skill level has gone way up. GSP or Anderson Silva would be a perfect example. And did you see what happened to Royce when fought Hughes? Royce is kind of like Frank, he's on the same level as he was back then.
