Brace yourselves. The time may be ripening for the eagerly anticipated, rumor-worn major PS3 announcement. MCV reports that the stock of PS3s in the UK are running low, which may indicate that Sony is preparing for a big move that could prove to be a crucial factor in the life of their console. Price cut? PS3 Slim? Or both?
According to MCV, Sony is already clearing PS3 stock currently in the market, quite possibly to make way for cheaper and/or slimmer PS3s. Sony has already found a way to reduce manufacturing costs by a solid 70%, and there has been a lot of talk about the PS3 Slim for quite some time.
SCEE has reserved a rather heavy three hours for a presscon at the forthcoming GamesCom 2009, where the all eyes in the industry will be on Sony to make the major PS3 announcement.

I already got mine an all and I mean all my friends just bought a 360 which is great but I can't play online with them I stick up for Sony and they shot in my face they need more adds they need to complete all the publics reqestes only then when evryone is happy with free online and great service will Sony prosper. Boo hoo for me...

at the bottom of the ad! MGS4, LBP, Uncharted Assasins Creed, Lair, Bioshock. The first 2 make me suspicious.. too bad i have all but bioshock (and lair which fails) :(
in the ad it says 140GB HDD Full backwards compatibility whether it ps2 backwards or phat backwards
the article is said 2 be sort of a spoof...well I don't care much cause I already have a PS3 The system image found on the ad is an exact replica of a NeoGaf fan made image. To counter this claim, though, the source for The Big Man and Garret had this to say: %u201CI cannot reveal my exact role, however, I can tell you that I work closely with the marketing department at Best Buy. This ad is a mock up at best of the ad to be released in just over two weeks. I cannot comment on the NeoGaf PS3 mock up as this is the material that we%u2019re working with. unfortunately, of the three hours they reserve , 2 are for seating and other spare time. only 1 is for the actual conference.
