The last time we heard about Rockstar and Team Bondi's L.A. Noire was back in Q3 of last year, and back then, they described it as "going splendidly". Thankfully, we're set to hear something more concrete than that as the March 2010 issue of Game Informer dishes out the first solid details of the game.

Impressive is how the context of the game was made to be historically accurate, so don't go expecting a sandbox type of gameplay ala GTA. It's set in the City of Angels in 1947, so the teme is definitely as noir as it can get.

Cole Phelps is your ID here, a beat cop looking to rid the city of its dirt and grime, and no, we don't just mean garbage. As Phelps, you will be handling a series of cases wherein you will have to use a mix of investagation interviews and interrogation tactics.

Game Informer discloses that in looking for clues, you will really have to find them yourselves. No highlighted items for you here. You'll also get to jot down your observations of the crime scene in your notebook.

The interview uses facial motion capturing system, set in a 3D game lanscape. It's visually impressive, as what we can garner. You might want to catch a few tips from the TV series "Lie To Me" too since you'll have to read your interviewee's facial expressions and body language to determine if they're lying or not.

So far, it does sound like it's gonna live up to its title: dark and mysterious. As for the rest of the gameplay (aka gun-blasting action), we'll most likely have to wait for the next wave of info releases.

We'll be keeping you up to speed on that, though, don't worry.

Mabie, you can list this game under multiplatform.

GameInformer confirmed that it is coming to Xbox 360 too:

Im sorry but i dont see how in anyway this game magically became multiplat, this thing was sony's own for the longest time and your saying its multplat for the COMMENTS on a video game site, righhtt, reall trust worthy. Truthfully, this is a new IP, like heavy rain this seems to be doing something new and different, and public opinion could go either way. Developing on the ps3 gives them the power to pull a game like this off to the best of their ability, and allows them to test the waters. Theyre not gonna throw a bunch of money into a new IP to have it devolped multiplat if they werent confident it would be a game that is oppening to a large audience.

This game have been long rumored to be multiplatform, and with comments section, I meant a comment from a GameInformer admin, which interviewed the devs. And YES, I think that's trustworthy enough. I don't think the admin of GameInformer would lie to us.

@Sean/DeadbyDagger

It's not a PS3-exclusive. It was at one point, but it's coming out for the PS3 and 360.

Love the back cover image a lot for some reason.

I really hope the game goes deep into a whole seedy, L.A. Confidential/crooked L.A.P.D./Chinatown vibe. It has to.
