The developers at Zen Studios are building milestones for the PS3 crowd. With some seriously souped up technology (Unreal Engine 3, what, what!), they're bringing in a new PSN title: The Punisher: No Mercy.

Yep, it's a Punisher game now. Spidey might be busy webslinging around New York with Cylon 6 in Web of Shadows, but that doesn't mean the Punisher can't wreak havoc online too.

The Punsiher: No Mercy is going to be the first-ever FPS game to be exclusively offered as DLC on the PlayStation Network. According to the managing director's post on the PlayStation boards, it's also going to be the first-ever Marvel game in consoles to be presented under the FPS banner. (To the best of my knowledge on Marvel Comics games, yeah, that sounds just about right.)

No release date for No Mercy yet, but the developers are promising to deliver gameplay that's buildt heavily on online multiplayer mechanics - arena-based multiplayer, as they described. Other characters in the Punisher's story arcs are also going to be in the game: Jigsaw, Silver Sable, Barracuda, and Bushwacker.

And thanks to DNAgent via the comments section below, we get to see the first three screens from the game:

Many thanks for the heads up DNAgent!
