Finally: PlayStation Home launching Open Beta tomorrow |

Today, we're kicking off with the best news I've heard in a while. Sony is finally launching the Open Beta of PlayStation Home tomorrow! Yay-ness!
Sony has a lot of things planned for Home, for oldies and newcomers alike. The Central Plaza has been redesigned and now includes a new four-player mini-game called "Saucer Pop." They also have a bunch of events lined up, like parties and tournaments. Some will be announced, and some won't. Why wait for their signal though? Have a dance-off, go start a conga line!
A lot of big brand names are on board with Home so you can expect to see it expand real fast too. Speaking of which, here's a vid of the tropical island Red Bull set up:

Not that i dont love this site. Its just lately you guys have been posting articles pretty late. I keep checking other sites like "damn, they got it b4 QJ, again."
we can all finally go home!!! sept for our fallen 360 friends, they 're stuck in red rig valley heh.
"The Central Plaza has been redesigned" what exactly does that mean? each plaza on each server (EU, US, JP) were entirely different throughout this recent beta phase, so have they changed them again to be the same as one another???

Unfortunately, no one was in the office when the news broke. Posted it as soon as I could when I got in though.
I hope the current beta testers are allowed to download the update early because I'd really hate to download it when a million new people are downloading it too.
I feel like spoiled brat for complaining like that... can i take it back.
I just got my newly refurbished PS3, after the bluray drive in my old one died.
I'll be waiting to download it. Any information on how it will be obtained? Is it going to be apart of a firmware update, a DLC from the PSN, or is it going to be like Life where it's just integrated and has to download the code?
i'm betting the servers will crash once they go live due to all the sudden influx of users. it happened to LBP, it can to home. more so for home because it's free and downloadable by just about everyone with a ps3. but anyways. yeessssss! that's great news! looking forward to tomorrow! does anyone know what time it's going live? ^_^

I'd imagine it'll be available to download as soon as they do the usual PS Store update.

It will just appear next time you boot up your PS3 and thers goin to be alot of new content for us Closed testers it has new clothes and furnature and also finally reopen gamespaces. The thing is when you will have to redownlpad the central plaza and also they been stress testing the servers with succuss for the past 2 weeks to handle mass usage now 15 mill ppl is a question though

i doubt it, they have a ton of people on it at the moment in the private beta and it is fine, so it should be okay :)

don't worry, I think everything's alright for them considering they have so many AAA titles to choose from to play with their friend in the most consistent and best online videogame console server. But I have a PS3 so I guess I'll have to keep playing my fairly good games since I won't waste my time on a virtual life...

Sony's firing enough people to go digital. Between those firings and whatever deal they have with Google...I'm sure there's plenty of money left for Home.

Remember that Sony said a week or two ago that in order to use Home (post-beta) you must be 16+ For the Closed/Open beta's you must be 18+
Will they make it available at midnight? Not to sound weird but it's 12:20 am here and nothing new. When do they do it? Or do their updates normally appear at random times.

dont give a *****, will still use it and im not 18. and i hope Sony is reading this, if they give me any problems i'll just make a few new accounts with different birthdays and waste there server space. how u like that Sony, or should i say Ageistny.
It's 13+ for Open Beta
Well i am only To happy to Get my hands on HOME but as i watch the Clock tick by past 12am on this Thursday Dec/11/2008 I still do not see HOME open beta =( I guess I'll just fall asleep and Hope it will be out by the time I wake up.
5:33am and no sign of home yet. Guess i will have to wait till after work to check this out, all for the better i suppose.

It launches at 7am EST... By my watch, it launches at 9pm in Oz, so 4 min to go.
Its 8am EST now and still no signs of Home.
I keep checking the PS Store. The anticipation is killing me.
too bad my ps3 is @ sony coz of YLOD right now...
I managed to download the v1.03 update 4 hours ago from the Japan server, but haven't been able to log in since downloading it. More recently, it gets stuck on the page that says don't turn the ps3 off while its saving.

cut i keep getting error C-991 connection to server was lost. ive never even logged in, was all happy to download teh 77MB for home and save just under 4gb for the program to use. but now i would like to actually PLAY!!!!!
many have the error, so do i just hold on, they will fix it soon
