Ok, so I was lucky enough to be able to get the Japanese demo working on my Xbox, but why don't games companies actually acknowledge that Europe exists? We always seem to draw the last straw, no wonder people mod their consolde and opt to import ¬_¬
Hmm..
A week headstart on XBL.
Seems that Capcom forgets what system made the Res Evil franchise such a blockbuster in the first place.
Ho Hum...
...I wonder how much THAT cost M$
why the hell does sony get the shaft...THATS THEIR FRANCHISE THEY STARTED!...TWO WEEKS APART!? thats just F*cking insanity, i hate these companies
but it's not two weeks, it's one week.
No one can wait a week? I don't know if it's a timed exclusive but if M$ actually paid for this, then that's just really sad. I don't think it's an actual timed-exclusive though, it might have just been scheduling conflicts or something. PSN & XBLive doesn't operate the exact same, so...
"it might have just been scheduling conflicts or something. PSN + XBLive doesn't operate the exact same"
Yeah, I was thinking the same thing, really. Especially since XBL gets updated earlier during the week than the PSN. Moreover, if you check out other content that goes live for both the 360 and PS3 (say, something for Rock Band or CoD...), there's hardly any simultaneous release. XBL usually gets DLC earlier by a few days.
Other than schedule conflicts, the process of approving content for XBL and PSN is different between Microsoft and Sony.
Y'know.. the only thing weird tho is... when Capcom's press release rolled out, it was all "RE5 demo premieres exclusively on XBL on Jan 26!!!" without a whiff of the PSN demo. We only heard of the PSN demo's confirmation via Joystiq and PS3Fanboy. Strange, huh?
I have to agree with SPKuja. Does this include Europe too? We always get left you :/ I don't get why there would be a different. If anything we should get it before USA because we use the same region code as Japan :/
It's more like a 2 month head start if you consider XBL in whole, meaning XBL Japan got the demo on Dec. 5
"You should count your blessings too, because over at Japan, the only way to get a PS3 demo is via the demo disk included with the PS3 console."
Wrong!! There's a workaround in which all you have to do is download a few files, unrar them, and burn. Hell, you guys (QJ.net) even posted an article on to download it by creating a Japanese 360 account.

even tho im not from europe i think sony shud offer u guys a lot more i mean ur region is the majority of the suceess of the ps3
You quoted a comment about the PS3 demo, then talk about the workaround for the 360 demo. Two totally different consoles buddy.
lucky me, i have both 360 and ps3, i already played the demo on the , the jap version, but the load times are huge!! really fun 2 play
Yup, didn't notice that.

It's fairly obvious why they would do that.... everyone and their mother owns an X-Box. It's easily the most popular console, currently. (It pains me to say that...)
Why's that you ask?
Microsoft shells out lots of cash to make sure they get the most coverage, and the most succulent of DLC.
I'm sure everyone remembers that Microsoft would buy out smaller companies to thin the competition. It's the same general idea here.
The PS3 will have it's time to shine, '09 is a guaranteed year of the PS3.
I'm guessing it's because they had to compress it lots in order to prevent the demo from being 4GBs large. Although....compressing sometimes makes loading quicker...mmm...
The Demo was only 500mb(!!!) and looked gorgeous. Can't remember the load times being that bad. It's was a pretty early demo. Lots of time for optimization. :)
...I think you will find that Capcom are the ones that started Resident Evil.... Not Sony, hence RE2 was on the N64 ;)
Capcom has made it very clear lately that they like the way MS treats them, with support for dev teams. hence why Capcom games sometimes come out on 360 first or not at all on PS3. Sony is simply not being as supportive as they were during the PS1 and PS2 eras (something Capcom has publicly complained about) so Capcom is giving MS preferential treatment
