FIFA Street 3: on Specialist groups and what makes them special |
Ó
If you've had your fill of realistic soccer sims and need to take a break from the action, then Electronic Arts gives you the chance to unwind with some arcade-style football with FIFA Street 3 (Xbox 360, PS3). Justin Sheffield, Lead Designer, took readers into the game by describing the different groups of specialists each playable character falls under, as well as their different strengths.
While the game's characters are based on some real-life familiar faces, the gameplay itself plays out in a very animated and arcade-like manner. So expect a lot of hardcore, if somewhat exaggerated soccer action from the game.
Depending on their strengths, each character is grouped into a specific specialization. For example, the Tricksters excel in moving the ball around in a skilled and fluid manner than any other player on the hard court pitch. It's no small wonder that Brazil superstar Ronaldinho is included in this bunch.
The other groups play upon their specialization according to the name of their faction - the Playmakers focusing on strategy and calling the shots around the pitch; the Finishers excelling in making the winning shots; and the Enforcers being number one in terms of making defensive stops.
FIFA Street 3 isn't set to hit shelves until Spring 2008, though, so we'll just have to sit tight until then. In the meantime, you can take a look at the line-up of players according to their specific specialization:
