FFXIII demo, Versus and Agito goodies to come with Advent Children Blu-ray release |
Ó
Square Enix's big ol' private party has finally begun in earnest over at Japan, and we have the first wave of announcements from the shindig. Leading the charge is the news that the Blu-ray release of Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children will come with some big time freebies.
The most interesting of all will have to be a playable demo of the much-awaited Final Fantasy XIII (PS3, Xbox 360). This is reminiscent of how the FFVIII demo was bundled in with Brave Fencer Musashi back in the PSOne days. Square Enix definitely knows how to sell stuff, doesn't it?
In addition, new trailers of FF Versus XIII will be included in the purchase. If that's not enough, Final Fantasy XIII Agito for mobile phones was also guaranteed.
FFVII: Advent Children will be out on Blu-ray this March. We're sure a lot of you are raring to see cloud and company in 1080p, but the freebies may have already stolen the show. No word as to how Xbox 360 owners are going to get their hands on the demo has been mentioned.

Yes, zomg! After many months of waiting, Ps3 fans can get a taste of FFXIII's awsomeness. Reading this article truly made my day. This Blu Ray movie is definitely worth the buy!
Yea boi
Whilst this news of a demo is good, I hope this is not the "major announcement that will shock the fans in attendance."

?
360 owners will just have to wait until 210 because that is when they will get the game.
Seriously, if the Japanese region game isn't out by March 2009, I don't see the rest of the world getting this game before 2010 starts. Not to mention that SE won't start the 360 version until the PS3 is finished. There will be at least a 6 month gap between Japan and the rest of the world.
I don't know about anyone else but I'm more interested in Versus XIII. Action RPG ftw!!
There was a gap between Japan and the rest of the world for all the previous FF games.
Japan always gets FF first with the rest of the world following many months later.
And 360 owners aren't going to complain, because up until E3, it was a PS3 exclusive.
Anyway, FF vs XIII does sound interesting, but I'd really like to see some gameplay for these games (CG doesn't impress me when it comes to games).
wasn't that movie supposed to only be released in Japan though ?
There's nothing to show with the CG. We all know the in-game graphics won't be as nice, but how close can it match? That's the topic for today. We want in-game mechanics to be shown with more clarity. We need to see graphics rendered using the graphics engine...I hope the demo is actually good, or else...But either way, im saving up for this blu-ray.
That wasn't confirmed nor denied yet. There is still a possibility.
Either or, you can import the movie anyways, Blu-Ray region coding puts Japan and NA in the same region. The only downside is you might not understand it unless you know Japanese.
Well, there's always an option of importing it.
Or you might not be a resident of NA ;)
it's good to see sony doing this, will be one more reason to buy a ps3 instead of a standalone.
microsoft did this for xbox1 on a few dvd movie releases. hopefully with sony's film industry clout this will be more common place.
PS3 Demo will be on Blu-Ray Disc
