Famitsu scan - Image 1When the Japanese gaming mag, Famitsu broke the news on a Final Fantasy XIV (PS3, PC) code coming with the purchase of Final Fantasy XIII (Xbox 360, PS3), many folks went, "Ah, beta access!" over the supposedly good news. As it turns out, it's not a beta code. Famitsu now explains that it is in fact a campaign code, and it doesn't give you access to the FFXIV beta.

What it does is that it'll give you a secret item for Final Fantasy XIV. Hold on to that code 'cause that one's gonna take a while. As for what this secret item is, don't ask me, it's a freakin' secret.

And just a quick Final Fantasy XIV update, two new character classes were introduced in the issue as well - the gladiator and the pugilist, with descriptions for their weapons included.
