Square Enix's Final Fantasy XIII PS3 - Image 1Many gamers have been getting increasingly frustrated at the lack of updates for Square Enix's Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy Versus XIII. Well, it looks like the long wait is over.

In an interview with Famitsu magazine, Character Designer Tetsuya Nomura said that 2008 will be the year when they release lots of new information regarding the game.

He started this off by announcing that Square Enix is planning on releasing a demo of the game to give players a chance to try out the battle system. Unfortunately, Nomura didn't give an exact date when the demo will be released. We're going to keep our eyes peeled for more information on this.

We were also able to get our hands on a few scans of the the Famitsu magazine where Nomura was interviewed. While we're pretty sure that there's more information in the scans, our Japanese is a bit rusty and our in-house translator is still on vacation so we can't give you a definitive take on what else was revealed.

Whether or not you can read Japanese though, Final Fantasy XIII fans should check out the scans. There are some pretty good shots of the characters from the game that might catch your attention.

"2008 will be the year when they release lots of new information regarding the game."

That means we're not gonna play it before mid 2k9 right... Man, they should hire more people at square-enix, and not for ONE big title but for tons of titles. And unlike actually, they should time there titles to pop at different time. I mean, we'll surely see The Last Remnant pop in 2k9, with FFXIII and FF versus XIII. And guess what, we'll then wait 3 other years before kingdom hearts 3, lol. I mean, the kids what started with KH1 are teens before the second pop, and almost adult before the 3rd pop, lol. Anyway, the games are the best so I should not be concerned with the release date, still, I wish for one title a year on PS3, lol. ps: I know they're doing tons of portable project, and even a wii project, but it's not "real" games. I mean, especially not on wii (slasher?, this is no RPG...)

those pics look incredible. I can't wait to get my hands on this game. I hope that they surprise everyone and release it this fall. That would be great for the PS3.

chyeah

It would be amazing. It would make 08 the year of PS3, cuz lets face it, NOTHING looks like FFXIII on any system. It's astounding. But SE takes forever for their games, no doubt we won't get it till 2013 :P
