Fan builds tabletop Street Fighter IV pad for PS3

It's always amazing how far people can go to show their love for their favorite game. Like the other day, a guy actually wanted to bomb Hudson for falling short of his expectations hahaha! But nevermind him, he's nuts, and that's a different story altogether. Let's just admire the work of this Street Fighter IV (PS3, 360) fan who built his own arcade-style game pad on a wooden table.

This fan, an artist by the name of Chiuk, modded a PS3 controller and built himself his very own gaming pad. He used Velcro and picture hooks to tuck the wites and cables aside for aesthetic appeal, then added a nice Chun-Li skin on the table top to give a better feel of the game.

I wonder how the actual use would be like though. The table seems level-tool flat, and it looks like you'll be using this one standing up. Maybe if he made it shorter so you can use it while seated, and if he angled the table facing the user, then that'd make it easier to use, rather than if it's completely flat.

With my silly concerns aside, it's one pretty cool mod. Makes me wanna learn how to mod controllers. Hats off to Chiuk!

Mods like these impress :) It looks confortable to play with since it's a tabletop. Maybe add a couple of drink ;) idk

It seems to be made of a folding "tv dinner" stand, which is obviously made to go over your legs while seated.

Despite this, if you are whining about having to stand while playing street fighter, than you never really played street fighter......SNES doesn't count

Poor fat kids...hahaha

SNES was the BEST way to play it back in the day. Still can't believe I paid £64.99 for it lol!!!

Standing while playing... poor varicose vein kids lol!

» Confused.

Maybe im blind or confused, but shouldnt there be 2 more buttons?

I understand o, s, t, x. as well as the ps3 button , start, and sellect.

But are l1 and l2, (and r1 and r2) the same function? If they are it makes sense, but the last few fighters I played l1 and l2 did different things.

Nifty sure. But amazing? No. It really isn't that much work to take apart one of those pads and make some holes in a table to accommodate it. You say he modded a PS3 controller, I say he just grabbed a lame already made bad and took out its innards.

Probably left them out to keep the oldschool look of the SF arcade stick.

Hopefully he has inside info on the games controls, cause who knows, they may have assigned them a function for the new game...
