Word on Japanese developer Acquire's Way of the Samurai hasn't exactly been abundant in recent times, but we've grabbed hold of some scans in the latest issue of the weekly Famitsu that show us how it's coming along. It turns out that the adventure title is scheduled to launch come fall this year.

But that's not all. It was also confirmed in the magazine that a version for the Sony PSP is also being developed. It differs slightly from the PS3's version in terms of features. The PSP's Way of the Samurai will have a two-player battle mode which will run via ad-hoc. Other exclusive content are also on the table, and the handheld release will take place earlier than that of its console brother's.

Way of the Samurai takes players on a trek through feudal Japan. They can choose from three playable characters and then go on a journey as a masterless swordsman. Three clans will then be open for taking you in, and you'll have the freedom to choose which one to serve. Actions of the player in the game will determine which ending unfolds. The scan to the left is the PS3 version's feature page, while the one to the right is for the PSP.

It seems Way of the Samurai for PSP is a portable version of Way of the Samurai (WotS1) for Ps2.

In any case, *creams pants*

But I'm not really into "the way of the samurai" games. If I had

more money maybe, but right now too much good games need my money, this one will have to build some hype for me.

but Way of the Samurai is a much better game than any other action game you're thinking of getting. Unless of course you're thinking of getting Ninja Gaiden 2, then it'd be a tough choice.

I will have to seriously consider buying a copy if it comes stateside, otherwise it will be awhile until I'm too concerned with something that extensively tests my Japanese knowledge.

I will surely get MGS4, GT prologue, devil may cry 4, etc. Tons of games that I still don't have since I bought others, like dynasty warriors 6 and bladestorm. Still, if they release a demo, I would see the game and maybe I'd love it. So I just hope for a demo! :D

Thanks anyway, I'll check the game if you say it's really good.

# WOTS1 my favorite Samurai game and the only good samurai game for PS2 next to WOTS2YAMI ANUBIS X 2008-06-14 18:55
Thats basically a port of the PS2 version of Way of the Samurai 1, man QJ, did you not know that Way of the Samurai 1 was being ported to the PSP with new stuff.

Its been freaking ages since a WOTS game came out but we get a port of the first game, I hope they add new stuff to it.

The japanese PS2 version got that Manga exclusive Manji character, who I heard was awesome to play as. But because it was from manga, it couldnt be in US version.

I wonder if there trying to revive the series again.

I thought the first game was rather too short for my tastes but atleast it had better faces than WOTS2.

WOTS2 had ugly custom faces in it.

But it was longer. I loved WOTS1. I just hope they add new stuff into it cause versus mode was in the PS2 version aswell.
