Hideo Kojima in Famitsu - Image 1Maybe you saw it coming, maybe you didn't, but even though Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is not yet out on stores, it seems that series creator Hideo Kojima is already thinking about Metal Gear Solid 5. Here's what Kojima told Famitsu (translation courtesy of Kotaku):

I gotta start thinking about MGS5... Even though, well, Snake's story ends in MGS4. ...About MGS5, that would be something that Kojima Productions would have to make, I think.

Of course, we've reported before that MGS4 will only bring closure to Snake and is not necessarily the end of the whole series. Kojima also didn't  mention what capacity he'll be serving in IF a Metal Gear Solid 5 (Metal Gear Sasaki? Metal Gear Raiden?) does get made.

LOL

Metal Gear Sasaki? Hahahaha! And here I am trying to get Glen to do an MGS Character Countdown on the Sasaki line. Woot. Anyways. All this talk of Snake's closure, and Kojima's future projects (man, when's he going back to ZOE?), and possible MGS novels, and now even an MGS5... Let's get through MGS4 first! ^_^ *shrug* Just waiting for June 12 now... la dee daaaa *fingers rapping on desk*

Don't you think he is too badass for a sneaking game ? He takes on 3 of those mecha things head on Don't think there is much need for him to sneak around with those skills.

Sick

I hope this *****ing game gives the closure we have been promised for the last three games.

a closure alright....

A closure to Snake. But there will probably be a clone or a son or something. Then it's de ja vu all over again. They could cash in and make all sorts of spin-offs, though. Oh wait, they're already doing that. XD If it makes money, it makes sense.... to publishers at least.

.

Hideo would definitely play a major role in the next Kojima Productions game, but he probably wouldn't direct it. The next game would have to be a new Zone of the Enders for me. That series is beyond badass, and the last game they got was released in 2003. MGS fans are getting a plethora of new game content.

well

you say "let's get through MGS4 first", but for Kojima he's already done with it. I'm pretty sure if I were in his shoes I'd some other ideas with what I could do. But yeah people are wanting different games to be focused on instead of Mgs, but I personally would love to have another Mgs in the making ^_^, but its too soon to do that I guess.

..

I'd *have* some other ideas

lol

I'd like to play with raiden or Meryl. (Meryl would be a really great choice since she's not overpower in MGS4, at least I don't think so.)

aa

a remake of the old MG games or a storyline about how Raiden became all f-ed-up would be really great. I always love prequels.
by pwandz - 2008-05-24 05:49:28
Meryl

who wouldn't love to play with Meryl? just gimme 10 minutes alone w/ her lol

"Even though, well, Snake's story ends in MGS4." Snake's suicide, confirmed!
by 93pauott - 2008-05-24 10:22:55
...

are you sure? what if someone just jumps into the "suicide scene" and kills him?
by Tydeus - 2008-05-24 12:49:00
MGS5

The whole "Snakes story ends" doesnt mean he's going to die.. but that his whole story ends, y'know.. Patriots, the clone thing, his father.. all the unanswered things get unanswered :P I think Snake is going to survive somehow at the end of MGS4 and go on to become the new "Big Boss" of Foxhound :P would be cool really. I like the idea of Ninja Raiden someone said up there, but thats not going to happen is it? We're likely to play Raiden before the events which lead him to be like this first if anything. I myself would prefer to play as Gray Fox before and after he became the Cyborg Ninja or to play as someone new altogether and just play as Fox in some PSP title instead. And we definantly need a remake of MG1 and 2 on the PSP too :)

Lol

you never know about Raiden now, last time when we saw him he was a noob in combat. So he probably no longer a ***** on MGS4
by ultimax - 2008-05-28 14:32:54
Heh

I like the idea about Snake becoming the CO of Foxhound. Like, tie up his story, and just make him "another character" in MGS5. Similar to Major Zero. An important character, but didn't get too tied in with the story personally. If Snake survives no. 4, he should die at the start of MGS5. It would make a nice small scale start to the game; a murder investigation. With loads of flash backs. :D And you're just some freelance reporter who ends up in a huge mess. Preferably female. That'd make a fresh change from all these old guys with moustaches or lady-men.
