New screenshots are out for the Fabula Nova Crystallis games, Final Fantasy XIII and Versus XIII. These are the shots they featured in their PS3 Vol. XIII DKS3713 EX. Report. In case you missed it, Gino D. also posted new screenshots for Final Fantasy Agito XIII earlier.

Odin doesn't make an appearance here though, but what the hey, they look fantastic. Click on the pics to enlarge.

» LOVE!!!!

Even though im still upset to see XIII on 360 i will still buy it on ps3. just cause it wont feel right on xbox. but i've been following versus XIII for longer than XIII and i have to say i think it will be way better than XIII for 1 it has been said it will play like a darker kingdom hearts and i love that game. 2 the characters look more interesting than XIII and are probably better too . and lastly being exclusive for ps3 will probably help sony out alot.

If any one of those is a pic of the game running in real time on a ps3, I must say it looks incredibly amazing, If not... it still looks amazing :)

» wow

6th screen of FF13 looks damn epic.

If I got my translation right, Famitsu says it's a huge sword... And a huge sword like that reminds me of one thing: Alexander in FF9...

» Well...

Versus certainly looks better, makes me wonder what XIII would look like if it stayed an exclusive. Oh well. Still looking forward to both games.

» cool

the first 4 of XIII are in game since cinematics never have subtitles.

also the fist of VXIII looks to be in game as well. they look like they will look pretty nice. just hope the battle system is fun too.

» Battle System

I heard that it will be similar to the battle system in KH and CC

» "since cinematics never have subtitles"

false.

some cinematics DO have subtitles. by cinematics here, i assume you're referring to CGI pre-rendered clips right? off the top of my head i can think of one cgi cutscence ending that has subtitles: the one in kingdom hearts 2 - the beach scene, with sora and rikku, and sora's reading a letter... "thinking of you, wherever you are...".

youtube it if you want.

i'm sure there's a lot more. if memory serves, ffx2's CGI ending (another one also set at a beach) also has subtitles - i was playing the international version and had subtitles on, so i'm not sure if subtitles appear for everyone.

the ff13 screens having subtitles isn't sound proof to tell if they're in-game cutscences or pre-rendered cinematics.

despite this, i do agree with you. they must be in-game cutscenes.

» hope so

Nah, your wrong, IT'S ODINS SWORD!!!!! XD

Anyway, Versus XIII looks more interesting, especially because it's darker tone. I like it.

» hm

i guess that true. i just remember from FFX that if i had subtitles on in game they wouldnt show up in the CGI sequences. could be wrong though since its been a while.

» trigger beat me to it

Yeah, some CGI cutscenes have subs.

And to the best of my knowledge, I think those screens are in-game clips, not pre-rendered. At least, I'd like to think it is. Because if you look around you, you'll see that in-game graphics rendering has already gotten so intense nowadays.

Case in point: Heavy Rain. ^_^
