If you consider yourself a Street Fighter fan, then there's no way you should miss this one, especially if you already missed the live stream yesterday. It's the final match of the Evo 2009 Street Fighter IV (PlayStation 3, Xbox 360) event between two of the tourney's biggest names: Ryu master and SF legend Daigo Umehara, and the beast known as Justin Wong. The event saved the best for last - this fight was the best fight of the entire tourney.

It was quite a long match, given the tournament format and that Justin Wong managed to tip Daigo into the losers' bracket during the final. For the first match, Wong went for Abel perhaps because of Abel's anti-fireball moves, which makes sense since Daigo loves to give Hadouken showers. That didn't work - clearly, the master of Ryu knows how to handle Abel.

Things got interesting when Wong switched to Balrog. Despite being tempted a bit to go for Rufus, his showboating character in the semis, Wong eventually opted to represent the US with an American character, complete with the stars-and-stripes getup. Since the Japanese Daigo Umehara stayed with Ryu, both players were playing under their flag.

It's interesting to note that it was a very aggressive Balrog from Gram/Graham that eliminated Daigo from the Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix (let's just call it HDR from now on) contest. Balrog (the boxer in US versions, he's M.Bison in the Japanese) is not a very popular character to use in Japan, so Daigo may not have been as well prepared to handle him than the others.

Well don't let me spell it out for you. Watch the vids and enjoy the show!

wow

Those were some amazing fights.... They guy was an idiot for trying to use abel vs ryu, that basically lost the match for him. Still, props for using balrog so well against ryu, wow. For the guy talking about medium kicks....as balrog shows (and all characters) it's not all fireballs and uppercuts.....you have to know all the "basic" attacks each character has and which ones beat other characters basic attacks and sometimes super moves.....when in doubt, use your jab attacks....but some fierce beat some jabs depending on characters......Mmmmm SF4
