El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron announced for PS3, Xbox 360

Ignition Entertainment is publishing a new action game for PS3 and Xbox 360 called El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron. Here are the first details.

Humans and angels take center stage in El Shaddai. The player character is a boy named Enoc who is accompanied by a red-eyed angel named Lucifer.

For an action game, the controls in El Shaddai are pretty straightforward. Combos can be executed using only a few buttons. Instead of looking at life bars, players can tell how damaged their enemies are via visual armor damage.

El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron is reportedly 60% complete and should hit Japan sometime this year. The designs here are being handled by Okami and Devil May Cry designer Sawaki Takeyasu, so expect some beautiful visuals.
