ninja gaiden blackThough we try to set rumors aside, we can't simply ignore Electronic Gaming Monthly's (EGM) massive dose of gaming gossip. In the latest issue of the magazine, the weekly rumor column hints on a massively multiplayer version of Burnout, a re-designed PSP, Kingdom Hearts PSP, Star Wars game for the Wii, a next-gen Star Wars: Battlefront sans Pandemic, and an Xbox 360 version of Auto Assault. Of course, there's one for the PS3 too! EGM speculates there'll be a PS3 version Ninja Gaiden Black, the game that features dragon ninja, Ryu Hayabusa. There had been speculations way back in July 2005 about the game having a PS3 version, but EGM resurrecting the rumor makes it even more believable.

The Ninja Gaiden series gained popularity on the 8-bit NES for its tight-action gameplay, use of cinematic cut scenes and of course, the catchy music. It's been released as a 3D action game on the Xbox, developed by the makers of Dead or Alive, Team Ninja.

Details of the PS3 version were not revealed but we can probably expect even more astounding cinematic cut scenes, engaging plot, and challenging missions.

doubtful?

Team Ninja has always been a proponent of the "better" technology. They're graphics whores basically, and they will always support the more powerful system. The head of that team said so, themselves. I forgot where I read it, but the guy basically dismissed the 360 and said that they'd probably make games on the PS3 because the system is so powerful. Whether that means Ninja Gaiden on PS3 is still up in the air, but I wouldn't just outright dismiss it. I wish I could remember what magazine I read the interview in, but if I find it, I'll let you all know.

power...

to #3: actually, i read somewhere that the graphics processing power of the 360 is almost double of the ps3's... it can push over 500 million triangles/sec, while the ps3 can only push 275 mil.

Not to worry

It doesn't matter how many triangles the 360 can push because the PS2 could push almost double the triangles of the Xbox but the xbox was still more powerful. From what I have read the 500 million triangles will only come into play for backgrounds in 2D game backgrounds according to most tech sites. So moe traingles are only good if you want to create a 2D background with an immense amount of detail but the PS3 is more powerful at running real time games much like the Xbox was more powerful at running real time games but couldn't compile as many triangles as the PS2.
