EGM admits typo: Ninja Gaiden 2 not coming to PS3

If you grabbed a copy of Electronic Gaming Monthly's (EGM) latest issue, one small detail may have raised your eyebrow. Among its pages is Team Ninja's Ninja Gaiden 2, which is listed not as an exclusive on the Microsoft Xbox 360, but a cross-platform title that will also appear on the Sony PlayStation 3. According to EGM's previews editor Bryan Intihar, however, that snippet is just a product of a typographical error.

Intihar posted on a thread over at the NeoGAF forums, clarifying that the gaming magazine made a mistake. A part of his forum post read, "this was just a mistake on our end (damn those late-night deadlines!). NG2--as far as I know--is only coming to the 360."

Publisher Tecmo indeed haven't made any official announcements regarding a PS3 version of Ninja Gaiden 2. Some may remember that Team Ninja did state when the ninjutsu-powered title was first unveiled that it is a 360 exclusive, and it's developed using an in-house engine designed to make games for Microsoft's console.

Just cause they published it doesn't mean it'll never come to the PS3. Maybe in a couple of years they would probably release it with a sub name like Ninja Gaiden Sigma.

Published by MS?? Last I checked it was published by Tecmo. Sooooooo that means its Tecmo's call on if it comes to the PS3 or not. Now given that fact and the fact that there are more PS3's in the Japanese market than 360's (which BTW is where Tecmo's HQ happens to be). What do you think benefits Tecmo the most hmmmm?

The ps3 has a ton more AAA exclusives coming this year....no problem at all the 360 will have a hard time showing up in the map this year thats for sure!

u ppl amaze me the only way it can come to the ps3,is if m$ says it's okay which they will never do.The chances of NG2 coming to a ps console is the same as Killzone,Little Big Planet and uncharted coming to a XBOX console.That's a better comparison If anyone can name 1 game that was published by m$ that came to a sony console please name it cause I never heard of this happening.there's no chance of this coming to a ps console m$ will never allow it,unless they both work out an agreement where a game funded by Sony(published)

Ok. I'm gonna set the record straight for ANYONE else who wants to use this argument....

Ninja Gaiden came out on the Xbox in early 2004.

PS3 came out in LATE 2006. So yes it DID take 3 years to come out because the PS3 wasn't even around until 2 years AFTER the game came out!!!

Why people bring that "3 years after" argument

up now (when clearly doesn't apply to the current situation) is beyond me.

So anyway like I said before 2/ 2.5 years and counting.....

every deal has speculations and MS doesn't own Ninja Gaiden. They are just publishing it. For all we know there could be a speculation that after certain amount of time they can release the game on any console they want or maybe there is a speculation that the game won't be released for any other console. We just don't know or can say for certain. So everyone should just stop talking sh1 t about it not ever being released on the PS3 or not because we just don't know. That's my 2 cents

Name 1 only one xbox game m$ published that got ported to a ps console,no wait name 1 game Sony published that was ported to XBOX u can't the only way they can port it to another console is with the consent of the publisher and that's a fact,they sign an agreement that's why game companies fund games porting it 2 a ps makes just as much sense as uncharted or killzone being ported to xbox 360.It can only be done with the CONSENT OF MICROSOFT now ask yourself will m$ allow this? man u ppl just won't give up,why would m$ fund a game 4 it to be ported to another console? this was the same arguement the sony fanboys said about GeoW 1,the team said about the rumors of it coming to ps3 that THE ONLY WAY IT CAN COME TO PS3 IS IF M$ ALLOWS IT that's why ps3 have no GeoW 1 gosh u ppl lol there's no chance if this comes out on a ps unless m$ approve n 2 be honest tecmo isso loyal 2 m$ so they prob wouldn't even ask(even though m$ would say no anyway) the publisher has the final say to what console get what game n if u think im wrong produce some links

I'm glad SOMEONE here gets the point that:

A: MS own Neither the name NOR the development teams that makes NG2 Right now they just happen to be footing the bill for its creation.

B: Anything could happen in the years to come and any of the "rules" that we THINK apply to who can port games to what system can change because NONE of us are industry insiders.

Now if it doesn't happen? Eh. My life will still go on but to say NEVER is foolish. Especially since all of this IS speculation.

Not to be mean but why the hell do you keep repeating yourself?? You typed the same thing like 4 times already. Back on topic your right they do sign an agreement, but it eventually runs out, which once that happens the developers of the game can choose if they want it to go multiplatform or just stay on 360 or PS3.

You see with these games you named sony publishes AND the teams stay with sony. Tamco dont usually only develop for microsoft meaning that when there contract is over they might decide to make a PS3 version (or not).

there's no chance.it might be possible on the ps5 but it would be an arcade dl n they would still need ms consent,and I don't think sony would ever do that ms would charge a bundle.also,tecmo have a strong realtionship with ms so they wouldn't ask there's no reason 2 port 2 ps3 even if tecmo was publishing the game will see well on xbox.ppl on this site

don't understand what publish mean they co own the ip cuz they pay for the development.it's only possible if ms give the go head I hope this end the questions no chance.

Actually doesn't matter to me who got exclusive of what. I have only a 360, if stuff available for 360 I might try it. If not, too bad for they are not making my money. You can exclusive to the 8-bits NES for all I care. I don't spend money on your game I spend money on someone else's game. Simple as that.

I don't see the point of making a NG2 game for PS3. I own a PS3 and like the console but seriously who would buy it and would it sell money. I mean The hype for it would be dead if they ever decide to port it.

Also remember guys while yes MS is publishing it and right now its exclusive and probably not going to change, The main team of Team Ninja didn't even make NGS it was a completely different team no involvement with Team Ninja who does the 360 version.

So with that i don't really see it happening any time soon. And besides i rather see a Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 to be honest. I mean make the word Sigma a PS exclusive title. Just an idea but like i said i don't really see the PS3 getting this title and even if they do it wouldn't be big. I mean its like Bioshock coming to PS3, even if it does who would buy it. Not alot. And it wouldn't be big.

ive got ngs for the ps3 and to be honest i wasnt that keen, it felt like a typical hack and slash, and i always felt there was something missing from it, but couldnt put my finger on it, yet with heavenly sword, even though it was shortish, i still felt i played something special!! so unless they make ng2 a lot better, 360 can keep it!
