Burnout Paradise - Image 1Electronic Arts has sent 'round a press release detailing the new feature set in Burnout Paradise (PlayStation 3, Xbox 360). Read on for more information minus the PR-speak.

  • EasyDrive Online Social Gaming – See your friends online with the EasyDrive Friends List and connect with them instantly without having to wait or exit your game.
  • Single-player Events – Players can choose from Race, Marked Man, Road Rage, and Stunt by pulling up to the numerous stoplights in the game to initiate the event. Players now have the freedom to start and even end a challenge at their leisure.
Burnout Paradise will also continue the series' fast action and bone-crushing crashes delivered in HD at 60 FPS. Both the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions will also let players take candid Mugshots of their opponents using the PS3 Eye Toy and Xbox Live Vision, respectively.

dubious

EA, PS3, HD and 60FPS dont go together in the same context without a negative connotation.

There is no Crash mode, but don't be disappointed

I've had an issue of a mag for awhile, GameInformer I think, and they go into some detail about this game. The developers say that there is no longer a dedicated Crash mode, but rather, the entire game is essentially Crash mode. As in, when you're not racing or doing some kind of special event or something like that, and simply free-roaming around the city, you can make a Crash anywhere. And there is no designated Crash area (no boundaries) so you can make a crash that goes down the entire highway or whatever, racking up billions in damage. Or create a crash that congests multiple large intersections with hundreds of cars piling up. Sky's the limit basically
