EA lists free games available for those with Rock Band controller woes - Image 1'Tis the season to be jolly, even if you're spending it without your replacement guitar for Rock Band (PS3, Xbox 360, PS2). As Electronic Arts promised, they have updated their customer support site to enable afflicted owners to choose the free game they want to receive along with their new controller.

And judging from the games in the list, the publisher's sparing no expense at keeping the fans happy. Titles we spied include Medal of Honor Airborne (PC, PS3, Xbox 360), The Simpsons (PS3, Xbox 360, PS2), Command and Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars (PC, Xbox 360).

The rest of the games that can be requested are available at EA's support site, accessible via the source link below. As a reminder, this free game promo is only available for customers who received an email directly from EA Customer Support. The promo ends on January 11 next year.

They did not want to get sued like Activision

They fear being sued for faulty controllers. Like Activision for the Mono sound on the Wii. :))

They even look shoddy

Every time I seen a shot of those controllers I just shake my head.. they look so damn cheap. I agree the concept is much better than the GH controllers. Adding fret buttons on 13+ is a great idea.. Of course one must consider how many people are completely lost in GH on Hard with just 5 buttons.. but I digress. When you look at the Fender controller buttons.. all 10 buttons seem misaligned and loose.. The whole thing screams Cheap Plastic. It looks like some POS kids toy that you'd find at a dollar store.

.

The guitars aren't that bad, but the strum bars really suck. Sometimes they register, sometimes they don't. Mine works for slow songs, but the fast songs are impossible to play because the down strums don't work most of the time. I sent the guitar back along with the bass pedal. Since they sent me back the exact same defective design bass pedal, I strengthened it with epoxy near the hinge.

I noticed

One of the free games you can get is Rock Band. Go figure.
