EA develops sci-fi horror for 360 and PS3: Dead Space |
Ó
Electronic Arts has announced the development of Dead Space, a new game that promises to send a shiver down our spines. Dead Space is a survival-horror game set in outer space, with a psychological spin that sounds like it runs along the same veins as the movies Sunshine and Event Horizon.
In Dead Space, you will be stepping into the shoes of engineer Isaac Clarke, who is sent on a routine mission to repair the communications system aboard a mining ship. The mission turns into a nightmare as he soon learns that the ship has been infested by an alien species, the halls silent, the crew ravaged.
Judging from the website, Electronic Arts is certainly raising the bar on the creepiness factor. The game will be released for the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360 Fall of next year. No rating yet, but judging from the website and the dead and halfway eaten corpse that graces it, it's gonna be an M.

At last something different, I love silent hill and resident evil games (alone in the dark is so so against any silent hill game) but 12 years (1995 Resident Evil) with the same 3 horror games its just too long!!.
I believe that if EA gets that creeppy outer space feeling of being in a ghost spaceship with god knows who or what else larking around to kill you, is going to be a major hit no doubt!(Imagine being all alone in the Event Horizon ship...pheeww thats some scary S***).
Combine that with mind blowing visuals and perhaps more important in these types of games, sound, along with a scary and a terribly needed NEW plot (enough with the zombies already!!) and bamm you've got a new horror genre competitive enough against the bigshots.
I cant wait for this game honestly!
I have wanted a deadly survival horror game for the ps3.
