Tony Stewart will the cover boy of NASCAR 08 - Image 1

Electronic Arts (EA) is so busy nowadays. Just yesterday, it announced Boogie, a new and rather funky video game for the Nintendo Wii. The new title the first of what could turn into a whole new franchise, but despite this good beginning, it seems that EA still can't really move away from game franchises. In fact, it just added NASCAR 08 to its roster of games, for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 (PS3), and PlayStation 2 (PS2).

The new title is under development with EA Tiburon and will be hitting retail stores this Summer. Would-be players of NASCAR 08 will begin as a rookie driver on the circuit, while every race that they win will award players with experience that will allow them to modify their car's handling with over 40 tuning options. Furthermore, as players progress within the game, they will be able to gain rights to sign contracts and licenses with owners and big stars, all while unlocking top performing legendary cars in the process.

Speaking of legendary, Tony Stewart will be the cover boy of NASCAR 08. He currently drives the No. 20 Home Depot Chevrolet for Joe Gibbs Racing.

EA was a little quiet with regards to the new game's details, but it did say that players' car setups can be shared with the online gaming community via Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network (PSN). The game also has multiplayer support and can support races of up to 16 players in one go. The game is set, obviously, in the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series championship.

» I hope...

I hope that it will be a hardcore sim racer. If they have a good physics engine and all that maybe they will produce something that will be as good as the Papryus Nascar games... if that happens then I will be bouncing off the walls.

» agree with #1 and 3

why can they atleast put oh lets say carl edwards on the cover instead of the most dangerous racer out there tony stewart. As for you spine "smoke" does NOT i repeat DOES NOT deserve to be on the cover of any NASCAR game NOR does he deserve to be racing in ANY of the NASCAR series' reguardless if he has won 2 titles. Stewart is the most dangerous driver out there, just look at daytona last year stewart said "we need to slow these cars down or someones gonna get killed" and what does the ***** do? he runs matt kenseth into the grass and tries to crash him if i was kenseth i woulda found stewart after the race and beat his ass. im sorry but stewart dont deserve ANY recognition in my eyes plus the eyes of THOUSANDS of other nascar fans
