OPM Dutch - Image 1Thinking caps on! It's time to speculate! Apparently, the Dutch Official PlayStation Magazine has (or, will have, rather) an exclusive sneak peek at an upcoming title for the PS3. In their latest issue, they tease of what's to come next month.

Translated, the text says that they're soon to fly off to LA to meet up with whatever studio is working on this PS3 game. Right now, of course, due to a press embargo, they can't talk about it in this current OPM issue.

I found the patience to actually type out the text in an online translator. Here's what I got:

New PlayStation winner

- We can because of a strict embargo has not lost much (or rather nothing), but next month we fly to the U.S. for you the first news on a brand new title for Sony PlayStation 3 to market. Destination: Hollywood, Los Angeles...

Strangely, some online websites have reported this new PS3 title to actually be PS3-exclusive, but seeing as there's no mention of exclusivity in the translation (in Dutch, it's "exclusieve"), and since the entry is right below 50 Cent: Blood in the Sand (non PS3-exclusive, also on Xbox 360), we're flagging this "new PS3 title" for non-exclusivity as of now.*

Be that as it may, any guesses? From what I know, there are a lot of studios down at LA. The first two that come to mind: SCE Santa Monica (God of War!!!) and Naughty Dog (Jak and Daxter!!!). Some actually speculate it might be the new game from Team ICO, but seeing as they're based on the other side of the planet from LA...

My guess is the new Jak and Daxter game Naughty Dog is supposedly coming up with. Last we heard, they're taking the Uncharted engine, and will release a new, re-booted J&D trilogy.

*Update*: devinger commented below, giving his own Dutch translation, indicating that the text does imply exclusivity. Sweeeeeet.

I'd like to see Naughty Dog do a crash bandicoot revival with that uncharted engine of theirs, damn that'd be sexy.

Roughly the same translation I got, but cool! You can confirm this? I only used an online translator, and it didn't seem to explicitly mention anything about exclusivity. Maybe it was implied? Y'know how iffy online translators are and how some words "between the lines" are lost in translation.

Cool beans though. I've update the article now. Thanks for the info! ;-)

Oh, and if you have this issue of OPM... will you be getting next month's issue? If so, send us a scan or something so we can follow up this story and see what the OPM people got their hands on. ^_^

I hate my native language, Japanese is way cooler. Okay anyways here's an exact translation:

New Playstation hit!

Because of a strict embargo we can't tell you too much about it yet (totally nothing, better said), but next month we're flying to the US to bring to you, as one of the first, news about a brandnew Sony title for the Playstation 3.

Destination: Hollywood, Los Angeles...
