Don't be silly - Image 1Greg Zeschuk of BioWare takes the side of Sony on the issue of Activision's "threat" of discontinuing support for the PlayStation brand if the hardware manufacturer does not yield and give a price cut for the PS3. "Silly," was how he described this threat to be in an interview with CVG.

Said Zeschuk,

I don't think it's really fair to poke fun at Sony. Certainly the Wii's been a massive success and Sony's probably not going as fast as they thought it would be but I think they're starting to make the right moves and the software's coming along.

I think it's silly to be saying you're not going to support Sony. The brand itself is huge and there are millions of [users] out there.

Earlier, Sony has responded to Kotick's pull-out threat by dismissing it as mere "noise." Sony CEO Howard Stringer shrugged it off by saying that the pressure is mutual and that it's just "the nature of business."

BioWare's been giving out a lot of statements as of late, and I'd have to say they all make sense. It's certainly good to know there are still some companies out there that's got a good head on their shoulders.

» Activision needs a new head.

They need to find a new CEO if their current one isn't being taken seriously by the industry's other leaders.
