Discount retailer Don Quijote has just been tapped by Sega in the ongoing promotional campaign in Japan for the up and coming Yakuza 3. Starting on January 23, the store will be putting up posters of the games, which will have a QR code, which can then be scanned into your cellphone and get free wallpapers.

But that's just the beginning. On February 26, coinciding with Yakuza 3's release, Don Quijote shops will have plastic bags designed with the game's imagery. There are two bags to be offered: one for Yakuza 3 only, and another for both the game and the Koakuma Ageha magazine. The magazine's models will be used as the game's virtual hostesses.

We've also picked up on four new screenshots for you today, so do enjoy since Yakuza 3 isn't sure yet until now if it's gonna see the North American light of day -- or any other territories for that matter.

of course

Don Quijote stores can be found in the game itself. it made me smile when i heard the don quijote store theme song in the trailers of yakuza 3. very japaneccentric game, it truly captures the feel of walking in the streets of japan (minus the street violence of course), be it chiba tokyo or okinawa. i know coz i live here!
