enumerating launch games and company marketing propagandas (which everybody does) is a poor effort MCS... fact of the matter is EVERYTHING has it's limitation... and the gaming world is not an idustry in regression but one that is taking big leaps forward...



and with that in mind, limitations taken into consideration, guess who will get left behind and deemed inadequate?

all i can is being PS3 owners we've got a lot to look forward to with regards to game advancements... a lot more than owners of just 360s... why? cause our consoles allow it.



the PS3 is far from it's peak and you know that while the same thing can't be said for the 360 so i'm just eager for the future... a lot of things happening and will still happen, the PS3 will be experiencing new highs in the coming months and years.. honestly, after Halo3 i don't think the 360 has another explosion left in it (no pun intended).



and because of Blu Ray things will only get better... the PS3 is far from the point of stagnation.

Yes, wake me up when something better than Gears of War, Bioshock, and Halo 3 appears on the PS3. Even if better games come out in 2 years, I've been gaming on the strongest platform for 4 years. I can then buy a PS3 for $250 if I want to and have both. That bets getting sucked into spending $1000 (AUD) on an over priced shiny black paper weight. The 360 will be getting some amazing open world games next year, including Fable 2 and Alan Wake. These games will be pushing the envelope. But before all that, we have Mass Effect this November which is going to be amazing. The developers that create these games are pure genius. Sure compression is an issue, but it's probably just as tough as building a game on Blu-Ray player turned game platform that is notoriously infamous for delayed release dates and poorly performing ports.

Actually you're half right. Blu-Ray is up to 200GB in lab testing but as far as retail goes, it's up to 50 GB. Still pretty amazing that they can get up to 200GB on a single disc. I would've never imagined it. HD-DVD maxes out at 30GB and DVD is at a lowly 9 GB, and that's the fromate that Microsoft chose to use for their version of a "Next Gen" console. Sad sad sad.......what where they thinking?

In Fact, as far as retail goes blu-ray is'nt limited to a mere 50Gb, it's actually capable of 100Gb ( Dual Layer double sided ) and HD-DVD's max is 45Gb D.L.D.S.



Yeh its true M$ did choose a mere DVD9, but is that a bad thing? If they can place the game code onto the disc and the consumer can download the extra content, well, look at PC's, they still seem to have some amazing looking games with great depth and gameplay all squeezed onto their tiny 4.7Gb DVD's!!!

fable 2 and allan wake???!!! you're putting those games up against MGS4, FFXIII, GT5, KZ2, LBP. Tekken 6 etc...



i'm sorry but those two games a never-heards in most countries and to most people... and pushing the envelope??? OFCOURSE!!! cause DVD is just about done! what would you expect?

it's because they download ALOT of the games' files. and not only that, but that 4.7gb is just the installer in alot of cases. (i.e. games that don't require a cd/dvd after installing)

Bioshock and gears are on pc... NO NEED FOR AN X BOX!!!! LOL!!! Most PS3 games will never come out on pc... Uncharted, Final fantasy 12+versus, Heavenly sword etc... While PS3 users will always have a chance to play so called X BOX 360 games on their pc it's sad the x box users can't say the same about the pc3... Cause if it works on an x box it will be better on pc... P.S. Halo 3 should be on PC by 2008...
