Disgaea 4 also lets you play against other player's parties

d4p Apart from being able to load save data from Disgaea 3, Disgaea 4 also has a few online features to shake up the gameplay. Think your over-leveled monsters are all that? If you're that confident, take them into a trip online to fight parties from other players.

Before you can take part in those super-powered battles, you must first build yourself a Pirate Ship from parts found all over the game. You 'll need to place your units on top of it like you would on every map before a battle, then you can deploy them online to face other parties. Don't worry, your Level 500 crew won't face Level 999 beasts - you'll be matched up with enemies on the same level range.

It's not clear, however, if this feature allows you to fight other players live online, or if it simply downloads and uploads ghost data like in Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together. The feature does let you call on another payer's Pirate Ship for backup, but again, it's unclear when exactly you can do so.

Rumor also has it that Disgaea 4 also has a map edit feature, so we'll keep an eye on details to confirm whether this particular bit is real or not.
