Didn't play Uncharted 1? Don't worry, not needed in Uncharted 2

When a fairly new franchise comes out with a sequel, it's always a concern for those who did not play the original title whether or not they'll need to catch up on their game backlog in order to have sufficient experience for the next one.

However, Naughty Dog made sure that this won't be a problem for their Uncharted sequel, Among Thieves, as they reassure the gaming public that there will be "no experience needed" here.

But I'm cold and lonely...

GamePro's issue #47 holds an interview with Evan Wells, and here he was caught saying that their devs are "making sure that you do not need to know about the experiences Nathan Drake had in Uncharted: Drake's Fortune to understand or follow the story in Uncharted 2: Among Thieves."

Glad to know that the titles are still independent from each other. This means that we should have just the fair amount of familiarity and a new adventure awaiting us in the fields of the prettiest snow we'll ever see.

Though if you haven't you should. It's still one of the best games of this generation as far as I'm concerned :)

AGREEEEEEEEEEEED (again)

I've started Uncharted AGAIN 3 days ago. This time on Punishing. I'm so close to getting the Platinum Trophy on this game.

I've been trying to get all the treasures but for some reason I get stuck at about 53 or 54 and everytime I find a new one, an older one disappears. Some sorta bug or something. I'll have to use a FAQ to re-find the ones I lost cos I can't remember which treasure was where. This time I'll try to save the game immediately after getting the treasure.

My first play through took me weeks, as I hunted every square inch, looking for the treasure. I think I missed 3 my first time through (not 'every' square inch then), so ended up watching a video on YouTube to help wrap them up. I don't really like doing things like that, but I had other games for Christmas and wanted to play them too lol! I've never heard of a bug with the treasure though. Bit concerning really!

if you havent played uncharted 1

then you should probably rush to a game store and buy a copy, uncharted 1 is a great game and i plan to replay it thoroughly before the 2nd one comes out. like most games and movies its always better if you see/play the previous ones.

yeah, but

Playing the first game may not be necessary for the enjoyment of the second one, but the reason I'm interested in the second one is solely because I played and very much enjoyed the first one.

Yep.

Honestly, I feel that gamers are cheating themselves by not playing the first!

WOO HOO

Got the Platinum 6:00 this morning. I realised I called in Punishing up there ^ when in fact, it's called CRUSHING... it was punishing though lol. I'm ready for number 2 now.
