Nero is just getting warmed up as the new hero for Devil May Cry 4 but that won't stop the rumors from trickling in. Months ago, we reported something about Sony losing its Devil May Cry exclusivity. No, this article doesn't confirm that rumor but it adds more fire to it. Now, there's are several backfence talks about Devil May Cry coming out on the Xbox 360.
The gossip emerged from the Capcom 2006 Annual Report that you could download later. To save you from scanning through all those pages, you better turn to page 14 of the report. In that section, Capcom mentioned their projection for the next fiscal year and they mentioned their multi-platform strategy for their Resident Evil and Devil May Cry franchises. The statement is pretty vague but then again most rumors come from shady statements or bad translations anyway.

They are going to wait and see how the 360 does this holiday. If it gets crushed by the PS3 then they will most likely reconsider their multi-platform strategy.

i actually heard that this was a confirmation that dmc4 will go to the 360 and possibly wii as well, but now im just really confused...
Last time I checked the OFFICIAL CAPCOM DMC4 site it said, 'PLAYSTATION 3' at the bottom, no mention of X360 on the entire site. To me, that's enough said. They might, however, wait and see how the new Xbox does in Japan and then consider porting it over, which I don't personally want to see happen. But it's possible, afterall the PS3 gets Ninja Gaiden Sigma so I wouldn't be surprised if game companies are going to develop their games for both systems, just like back in the Genesis vs SNES days.
I can't imagine them launching it for the 360 at the same time but I wouldn't be supprised if it came out a bit later... Dead Rising sold pretty well for them on the 360 and I can imagine Lost Planet doing well to, so they may rethink a few things
Devil May Cry is out on PS2 and PC. Resident Evil is out on loads of formats. Thereby making both multi-format. End of, as I see it. If it does end up coming out on the 360 then it is unlikey to be before DMC5.
When they say multiplatform I thought they were reffering to the PSP. I could be wong though.
Wii would make MUCH more sense
To put it simply, multi-platform can mean any of the systems and not neccissarily all of them. As of the moment I see the DMC brand as being a Sony exclusive when it comes to consoles, because the only other hardware it would be released for is perhaps PC way down the line. For that reason, multi-platform could just mean a PS3 & PSP version of that franchise. Now while the other consoles may do good, and Capcom may want to delve more into those systems, there are far more ways and they have a lot more I.P. rather than giving them the DMC franchise. Personally once next month comes and pasts and the end of the year reaches, the 360 will already have started to lose it's grounding thanks to the PS3 & Wii. And with more time, people will start to purchase those two as more and more consoles become available. The Wii might be the closest other system to getting a spin-off atleast of DMC using the Wiimote as a sword/gun (for gameplay value)

the ceo him self said in an interview that the game will be ps3 exclusive that they have gone too far into the story to try to make it a multi-platform but RE5 will be a multiplat game. he was dodgy to comfirm if dead rising and lost planet will stay exclusive to the 360 though. did you guys miss that one

DMC4 hasn't been announced for the 360, so if Capcom are secretly working on a 360 version, Charles Bellfield isn't going to become Homer Simpson by giving it away in an interview, followed by "DOH". ;)
Devil May Cry 4 doesn't fit on a DVD9. They would have to either cut out a lot of stuff or lower the graphical detail by a lot. So no the X360 doesn't deserve Devil May Cry 4.
Ok Sony fanboys listen here. Multiplatform games means ANY platform. Why did some of you assume that it's just Sony's platforms? If the games were Sony first party then it's safe. Again, multiplatform means ANY platform such as 360 and Wii. Just holding on to any shred of Sony defense huh? Real sad. Be a fan of games not systems. Why would anyone want to downgrade graphics for Wii? It's simple. To make more money. Is the concept that hard to grasp? I've been saying that Assassin's Creed will come to 360 many months before it was officially announced. It doesn't need to be confirmed because I'll confirm it for you. Devil May Cry WILL be coming to 360.
I really don't care if DMC4 is released for the 360 or not, we're getting Lost Planet exclusively. I'd rather have that, then play as a character with an unbuttoned shirt who eats pizza, with his feet resting on a table and says "where'd you hear about that?". Yeah, Dante's a real badass.
my best guess would be that DMC is likely to come out on the 360. it would make perfect sense for capcom since their recent title dead rising was so embraced here in the states. not only that but they're seeing all the positive reaction that lost planet for the 360 is receiving and it would almost be a no brainer for them to release DMC for the 360. it would definetly be a risk worth taking to develop DMC for the 360 since sales would look optimistic on the platform. sony would have to pay a good chunk of change to capcom in order to keep DMC exclusive. these kind of things make sense if u look at them from a business point of view.
I doubt DMC4 will be on 360, but if the 360 fairs well enough this gen, then they may put others in the series on the system, though by then no one will care about owning Sony since alot of those pople will have and love their PS3's. :D

If you want to play it on the 360, pick it up for that console. If you want to play it for the PS3, go pick it up for that console. DMC4 goes multi, so will NG2.

this would be very good for the 360 i have the feeling. This will also hurt some of sony's sales for this game because the lose of their exclusiveness. Things are looking up for microsoft with this being added to the huge library of games coming out before christmas. Can't wait.

dmc4 will stay a ps3 exclusive,the game's producer said it his self,thats the guy who worked on re4.you guys can have lost planet,and dead rising.and its no way a game that is way more than 9 gigs,go on a dvd. the game's producer said that not even the ps3 has the power to set their vision for the game. Ok, no need for fanboyism now. First of all, the later is right. Multiplatform could and most likely is the psp, as I beleive a dmc game was already planned for psp. Also putting dmc 4 on 360 would mean that lost planet was fair game unless microsoft PAID for an exclusive. From last months game informer preveiw, it looked as if they were develpoing it on ps3 for 3 reasons; blu-ray, past sony partnership, and correct me if im wrong, cell/rsx. my 2 cents

well, we know that RE5 is going to multiple platforms, but we also know that DMC is coming to the PSP. even though the PSP is a part of the Playstation family, it is still a separate machine, thus making DMC "multiplatform." anyway, i wouldn't be surprised if it was indeed coming to the 360, but developers are just being really skittish right now, as their cash cow (the Playstation brand) has been taking a beating from the press these past six months. but ever since PS3 preorders sold out practically overnight, developers are probably feeling a bit more confident in the PS3. if Sony actually does produce 2 million units in America this year, and they sell out, i expect exclusive 3rd party PS3 will remain exclusive, as the sellouts are definitely a good thing, and it really is more expensive to develop a title for multiple platforms, especially platforms as diverse as the 360, PS3 and Wii. don't listen to EA and Activision (i don't trust the former, and i worked for the latter). all their babble about expensive development costs is an excuse to charge $60 for games that should cost $50 (if that much). maybe the *initial* cost of game development is expensive, but they are two companies that have set up a business around releasing the same game every year with minimal upgrades to the actual game. after the engine is built, they don't need to spend millions developing a new engine for the countless sequels they will release. anyway, my point is that developing a game on a single console will always produce a better quality product, as they don't have to spread themselves so thin to get it across multiple platforms. the risk comes in whether the horse you're backing is successful or not. up until recently, most developers weren't sure if Sony would make it. now they are, but some are still hedging their bets on other consoles.
My goodness, DMC goes to the 360 and they act like someone defiled their god! Its just a game. PS3 and 360 are both next gen systems. They are both going to have the same game on both system. Do you really need to have a game exclisive to feel your deity is better? Im sure sony will buyout a few game developers so you can feel better about yourselves. Japanese developers seem to be a little bit too quick to side with all things Sony. That strategy may have worked over the last decade, but it certainly doesn't make dollars and cents any more. As a third party developer, Sony must be doing something awfully nice for a developer to risk giving away a class A game to a system that will struggle for breath in its first year (mostly due to lack of supply). I highly doubt that Sony is offering much by way of extra benefits to developers other than the name Playstation, and that name isn't going to be worth as much this time around in terms of market share.
