Dev talks Time Crisis, from arcade to PS3 |
Ó
Great minds seem to always think two steps ahead in termsof the future. Director of the successful rail shooter series Time Crisis, Takashi Satsukawa, revealed in a recent article that he didn't wait long to get crackin' on Time Crisis 4 for the Sony PlayStation 3 shortly after the latest arcade version came out last year. Given how tight competition is in the gaming industry nowadays, it wouldn't hurt to keep ahead of rivals now would it?
Although the Time Crisis franchise met a very warm welcome from gamers when it first exploded into the arcade scene back in 1995, there still remained an untapped market just waiting to be conquered: the home entertainment market. With release of Time Crisis 4 on 2008, developer Namco Bandai couldn't have picked a better time to do so.
With the game now retailored for the PS3, fans of the game can now enjoy it through a whole new gaming experience.Fans, both young and old, are given a treat with new features found in the PS3 version such fresh character and weaponry designs. Not only that, the PS3 also provides a Guncon 3 feature that offers gamers more character control. Not only that, the game's PS3 version has wider stage maps which encourages more stage exploration.
For those already eager to get there dibs on the game, shipments should hit North American shores this week. On the other hand, Asians might have to wait a little longer since the packaging is still being finalized. The European version is still in the works, says Satsukawa. So hang in there guys!
