In an interview with Stephane D'Astous, studio head of Eidos Montreal, he revealed that Deus Ex 3 will be using the the Crystal Engine, the same engine that powered Lara Croft Tomb Raider: Legend.

The game is the next installment to the Deus Ex franchise, and the first that will be making an incarnation on the next-gen platforms. The game is set for release on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and the PC although a release date hasn't been confirmed yet.

D'Astous explains that they chose the engine from Crystal Dynamics so that they can also develop the technology of the engine:

Having that technology from the start gives us a great advantage and foundation for our coders - there are no doubts about the approach, and we have few uncertainties. We just want to all work together on improving the same technology as we develop our game.
