Dead Space - Image 1

Electronic Arts may not be saying much about Dead Space 2, but professional networking site LinkedIn has stepped in to fill the void. A new job posting on the site from EA senior recruiter Jeff Ballard sheds some light on the game's current status.

The posting describes the Dead Space sequel as "in the later stages of pre-production, ready for production in the next few months, with many of the navigational and combat mechanics in place." If it's that far into development we could probably see this game by the middle of 2010.

The skills list in the job posting also seems to indicate that Dead Space 2 could feature a heavier emphasis on flashy combat. Some of the qualities being sought in interested applicants are an "ability to conceptualize exciting, dynamic, and powerful moves that will be satisfying to the player" and a "deep knowledge of the fighting game genre." This is just me speculating, of course.

Damn...

This is going to take another year before it's released. Oh well. As long as this game is harder and have a good storyline like the first one I'm fine with it.
